Wow! I love seeing Mike Mignola's ink-wash work. Dave Stewart does a wonderful job as usual. The heart and mechanical heart are awesome.

Recent Nature Sightings:
Sept 24: Two Orcas close to shore.
Nov 14: Trumpeter Swans, Bald Eagles catching salmon (and a duck!), Harbour Seals, Steller Sea Lions, Kingfisher.
There are so many cool things about this cover, but I have to say I love the fish. I don't know why, but for some reason Mignola draws fish in a way that just interests me more than anyone else. That's probably one of the reasons I loved the Strange Places trade so much.
Hyperbole fails me here as the image defies typical descriptions of beauty, etc., but I will say that I am definitely looking forward to this one.
"arriving first quarter 2012 from St. Martin's Press"
I feel like a kid who stomps his feet while saying "I want it now!" because I do in fact want it now. I love the cover and idea of a story taking place in an underwater city and it's 2 books!
I hope St. Martin's releases it in the larger paperback size, I'm actually reading one their books that size right now. It's not as nice the hard cover we got from Spectra on Baltimore but I like that size especially considering Mike's drawings for the book.
I never really got excited for Baltimore but this looks cooler than school!
WANT!

I think this everytime I see Mike's watercolors, but how awesome would a Hellboy short story be COMPLETELY rendered like this... it would be epic.

Yeah, that'd be awesome. And I kind of wonder, especially after seeing those two Mignola-drawn pages in King of Fear #4, if one day as we approach the end (perhaps even as that moment in King of Fear is played out in its entirity) it'll actually happen. It really does have a much more epic appearance.
Though, poor Dave Stewart...
