This issue was incredibly boring. I don't see why we need a commentary on it.
It certainly wasn't a jumping on point for Uncanny X-Men. Or maybe it was as it sells how incredibly uninteresting the book has become.
Hope we have more issues where characters just talk with PR people. Thats what made the X-books great. Right?
I always thought the issues where they played baseball or football were what made them great.
Whereas I thought it was a great issue that fills me with hope for Gillen's run.
One bit I liked was the flirtation bit...Historicaly, Magneto is chick bait. (and as for the "flirting with a human" other than Rogue, I'm not sure there's been a thing with a mutant for him...Magda, Lee Forrester, Wasp..)
Static Pulse: That's why I like you. You're like four degrees away from being a William Gibson protagonist.
I would like more Namor-related humour. It's all he's good for.
Isn't this the exact type of issue we needed? So many people complain that plot lines are just dropped and ideas never get followed up on.
We get a bit of resolution regarding Magneto, the Xorn situation and him being considered an X-Man in the public eye.
Some people are just never happy.
The issue was great.
I love that CBR is interviewing the writers in this way.
Its nice to get inside their head and hear how they wanted something to come across and whether it was successful.

In Kieron Gillen I TrustKGB since 3/10/11
"Um, blah, blah, blah. And, Girl Power. Feminism, d'you know what I mean?"
They evaded all the hard questions. Then all of Magneto's problems were solved in some sort of really fortunate coincidence. It might as well have gone like this:
"You're broke! Whatcha gonna do? :("
"No I'm not, I just won the lottery! :)"
"yay!"
THE END
So now were' supposed to forget everything he's done in NYC. They might as well ignore Planet X.
Not really Mags basically just said Xorn is the man, I wish I did that NYC. Then a convenient disaster happens and Mags saves the day. SO convenient that it could easily be believed that the X-men did it so they could save the day.
It was decent certainly not piled high with crap. The dialogue was great and characterization was good so Gillen will improve over fraction at least somewhat. Of course adding Colossus and Kitty is probably not the best course.
Convenient? There was a recent earthquake in real life. The editors were the one who said Earthquake....and remember the only reason those fake A.I.M. agents were able to blackmail people was because they had an Earthquake reader and knew an earthquake was coming. I'm not sure how it was convenient...???
Colossus and Kitty are logical choices seeing how Fraction brought Kitty back in Nation X. It's part of the plot.
Which is resolution to that plot. People can finally shut up about whether or not Magneto did it.
As for a 'convenient' disaster? Get over it. Stuff like that happens in comics all the time.
And as for using Kitty and Colossus? Get over it. It's better than it always being a Scott and Emma plot. Kitty was brought back to Earth for no valid reason. At least Gillen is doing something with her.
