Probably. On the one hand, Machida is the one guy who owns a round against him. On the other, it was when Bones was trying to play Machida's game.


I kind of think Bones is something like Machida pre-Shogun, where they key to taking him on was to figure out a specific gameplan that plays to his weaknesses. Don't know if Lyoto is the fighter to do that. On the other hand, tonight was the most confident, physically and emotionally, I've seen him since that first loss.

Indeed and this is from someone who can't stand Machida, kinda wonder if he'll sit on the side leading up to Bones/Hendo or want one more fight to avoid ring rust

Not for how he'd work against Jones, anyway. But he was great tonight, like a surgeon. And loved the headgames with the hands. That's some old school point sparring tactics right there.

I watched the Machida fight last night (recorded it). Damn, that was awesome.

I think he has the best shot at beating Jones in the division. However, whenever I watch Jones, I get serious Anderson Silva vibes (i.e., "I just know he's going to win").

All in all it was a great card. Machida couldn't of asked for a better match up, he eats up guys like Bader.

Shogun looked....well he looked like shit but Vera did bring it though.

And Joe Lauzon sits alone atop the record book with 11 fight of the night bonuses after his UFC on FOX 4 win.
