It was a borderlands promotion when it started. ESPN picked it up and ran it on Desportes to experiment with the format. While it was one of the top shows on the channel, ESPN couldn't figure it and dropped after the first circuit was over. After a couple circuits on Fox Sports Net, they were adopted by MTV2 and now are being brought onto SPIKE once The UFC contract is fully terminated next year.

Bellator runs on a tournament format, winner gets crack at the champs. A circuit is pretty much a "Season". They run most the year and break during the winter.
