This thread is devoted to the awesomeness that is Paige Elisabeth Guthrie--AKA Husk--cornpone delight, a unique character with a original power. So scram Negative Nancies! Huskeroos/Huskies/Cornpones (whatever we want to be called) UNITE!



Someday when Marvel decides to focus on the younger mutants emerging into the spotlight, Husk might just become the next leader, more effective, calculated, and adaptive without human loss.

Her fashion choices are top notch: what's in for her is what's useful! Take that, Superman!


And she NEVER had sex with Angel in front of her Mom in the air. NEVER!

Don't cross her either, because if you do...this happens!

And yet they still have not met on panel which i find ridiculous. She should be in the W&J mini not the nxm.

Yes, this is absolutely ridiculous. Paige and Jubes should be on-panel together ASAP. Paige does have a great and interesting power set. I wish that a writer would take interest in her and propel her forward. Remember her time in Gen X all she wanted to do was be the best and she studied and worked really hard. She is great with computers (although not on the level of Kitty or Doug) and has real passion for the environment that could be brought up again. Maybe she could even lead the terraforming of Utopia. And I would actually like a scene with Emma and her talking about Gen X.

She did go all environmental-activist at the end of Gen X, and she did grow up on a farm, so she could definitely do that. Make the rooftops green, create a faux-environment, maybe a biosphere.

I also think, she could go to college for a bit, or at least go to class over live video feed. I'd like her to get smarter.

As for her leading, they really should do more with that. She was meant to become something bigger than what she has become. She needs to at least lead a younger squad.

At least Carey is showing interest in writing her again over the next year, but let's hope she has more spotlight in it. Heck, even a one-shot issue would do in Legacy, focusing just on her and her various relationships with those on Utopia.

Maybe she could lead a new X-Corps.

I'm very curious about Husk and Blink. Just read that Phalanx convenant storyline the other day and those girls were pretty close....considering they had JUST met each other. I would like to see Husk come against Sam for trying to capture her old friend or at the very least a Husk/Blink story.

I enjoy Husk. I feel like her and Cannonball have the most realistic brother/sister relationship. But I must say I liked her in Gen X and then stopped liking her till Carey. Casey and Austen really screwed her up for awhile. Her and Warren were so wrong it is not even funny.

That said I sort of like the idea of her and Iceman together. There is something fitting in that. Plus it would add an interesting dynamic with Cannonball.

I like Paige and I think that there could a very interesting story with her and Blink. I think that she was one of the members of the rescue group that brought her back in the anthology series. I do like her relationship with Sam and would also like to see her reaction to her brother Josh(Jay)'s death. Maybe that could push her to be a better X-Man or more vigiliant. I could see her take a more active role in the New X-Men for this reason.

That's what I always thought about Paige and Bobby. They'd be perfect together, and it would add to an interesting interrelationship of Bobby/Sam/Paige. And her and Sam's brother/sister duo is interesting. He's a protective older brother, but she still does what she wants, so he has to eventually go along with her (like in UXM) when Claremont was writing it last, when she and Sam started an investigative sideplot that never went anywhere, after Paige's computers were hacked by the government.

And, yes, Paige was in the story where a group went to track down Blink. She even pleaded to her as a close friend before she died.

I like Husk. I still think she, Boom Boom and Warpath should crash the New Mutants. They can replace dead weight like Magma, Sunspot and Warlock.

The Blink thing is from the To Serve and Protect mini.

I don't like the Bobby/Sam/Rogue. Rogue already has a Magneto/Gambit love triangle. So it makes Bobby/Sam seem second rate compared to that. Plus at the end of the day she'll be with Gambit, so whats the point?

M is hardly close with anyone. But in Generation X she got along with Husk.
