Dats really really NOT kool...y not bring bak d original WM crew by Pak. Rhodes would demand 4 dem bcuz he would trust dem more dan dis new bunch of insignificants. Wat was soo wrong with dat crew from Pak's run, were dey 2 ethnic 4 ur liking? After his C.O.'s warm welcome, Rhodey was introduced to his new support team of intelligence contractors: Mike Zelinsky, Ernst Hoyer and Kaylie Doran. "They're going to be a big part of the series moving forward,"
Dis news just makes us not as interested as we would want...d only reason we r gonna chek it out(after getting spoilers) is 2 c how well 2 use Rhodes & Suzi Endo 2gether but if u r planning 2 ruin dat den bye-bye.
Pls we really need u 2 bring bak d original WM crew, pls say u r gonna make dem major xcters in dis Ironman 2.0 series....r u?
the above post makes my head hurt.
Best new series from Marvel in forever. Can't wait to see these characters and plots grow.
Casanova, Iron Man, Justice League, Action, Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Firestorm, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Stormwatch, I,Vampire, Voodoo, Saucer Country, Mrning Glories, Rachel Rising, Stumptown
My only gripe about the first two issues.... they work very much better as one. Kind of like a double length pilot episode, if you will.
but still Nick Spencer continues to not so much hit it out of the park, but continually hit it into the stratosphere.
6 months ago, I'd have laughed at you if you'f told me id be reading a Jim Rhodes based series. today? I can't wait until Wednesday.
...seemed to have a heck of a time linking to the original article.. ah well..
I hope that Rhodey will still get to beat up and blow up a lot of stuff, without his agenda being hobbled by government higher-ups..
I'm still just a tad confused about the book's title: so is Rhodey now going to be called "Iron Man 2.0" [or at least designated as such by the Marvel US Military] or is he still War Machine? or does the "Iron Man 2.0" name refer specifically to the armor model name? or is it simply just the title of the book with no further meaning?
ditto Marvel's marketing as they have backed away from the arms making Stark as well in both the comics and the movie.
As to Pak's abortion I just don't get support for the run's characters strident stupidity in service to poor political correctness. See this run's version of Suzi to see a less baroque of that character. Who knows if more of Jim's old cast could come back from the bad taste left but a new batch helps the reader move on to a run that makes far more sense.
"The folly of mistaking a paradox for a discovery, a metaphor for a proof, a torrent of verbiage for a spring of capital truths, and oneself for an oracle, is inborn in us." (Paul Valery) - thus my blog In extremis
That really doesn't describe Rhodey."I think Jim is definitely a military guy through and through. He's just one of those guys where it never really leaves their system, but at the same time he has this tendency where when he doesn't like the orders he's been given, he breaks off and does his own thing," Spencer explained.
Before he worked for Stark he worked as a Merc. After Stark he worked for an Amnsty International type place( that he ended up running) then ran his own salvage op after that.
He hasn't been career military in forever. The above more describes MOVIE Rhodey.
I actually like Rhodey when he was done during the osbourn siege saga where he was more cyborg and had magnet clamps that could assimilate any kind of technology into his system.
That version of Rhodey was scary and super adaptable.
There's a certain irony to Rhodey teaming up with the Immortal Weapons considering how much he has suffered at the hands of The Mandarin. Hopefully they will play up his distrust of Chi-channeling martial artists. Maybe have him remark that he thinks that kind of mystic power corrupts the wielder.
