Default Wrestler of the Week (04/04-04/10)

Welcome to the TV/Film board's Wrestler of the Week poll.

Each week you'll get your chance to pick the wrestlers who you think entertained, competed, or did the best during the previous week.

People can list up to 5 picks (you can list only one if you want). But you must at least rank them from 1 to 5 since I will be giving points depending on how the picks are ranked. You can either choose a single wrestler for a pick or a tag team as a pick. You can also break up tag teams into individual picks.

There is no real criteria for why you pick who you pick. It can be whoever you did best that week, whoever you enjoyed the most that week, or however you decide who makes your favorites at that time. It can be from any company, federation or country. As long as the person did something that week in the industry. Just listing your all time favorite who didn't do anything that week is not in the spirit of the game.

I'm going to limit this pick thread to only listing people's picks. You can list why you picked who you picked. But comments and responses to people's picks should be kept to the main wrestling thread.

This week's poll is for wrestlers who were active during the week of 04/04/11-04/10/11. This poll will be open until 04/12/11.

    1. Sin Cara - solid debut, trolled Cole, was built up as a big deal and didn't disappoint
    2. Alberto del Rio - 2 matches, 2 wins, #1 contender again
    3. Cody Rhodes - His character is really coming along nicely.
    4. Bully Ray - Token TNA guy. He at least won against Daniels.
    5. The Rock - At least he'll be at the next Mania.

Take note that if the time period had included Mania Zack Ryder would be #1 for his classic rendition of 'Friday'.

Edit: Also, I hope this top 5 thing takes off so I can tell my grandkids I was the first to vote in it.

    1. Adam Cole - Won the CZW Best of the Best tourney, won a few more great matches, and kept his Jr. Heavyweight Title. Not bad for someone so new to wrestling... err, technically.
    2. WGTT - Won (with Davey Richards) in the HDNet finale of ROH in a great match.
    3. Sin Cara - Two appearances, two statements, one meaning.
    4. Alberto Del Rio - Well, he had to regain momentum after WrestleMania... two wins against Bourne and Christian (great TV match) isn't bad.
    5. Yoshi Tatsu - I always leave the fifth spot as the "hidden highlight" section. Yoshi won a pretty damn good match with Tyson Kidd in Superstars... sadly, by next week, this could be one of their last matches in the WWE.
You just have to be cool about it...

    Thumbs up

    1. Sin Cara -- for being Sin Cara! And destroying Sheamus.
    2. Ultimo Guerrero and Escorpion -- for winning the Torneo Gran Alternativa Finals against Mascara Dorada and Metal Blanco in a great match.
    3. The Miz -- because he's the second ever heel to leave WrestleMania with the title.
    4. World's Greatest Tag Team -- Hass & Benajmin have the ROH titles AND went out with a bang on the last ROH on HDNet show.
    5. Cody Rhodes -- his character is awesome and he's going to be a future world champ soon ...

    1. Sin Cara: For a well booked debut and ruining Cole's moment

    2. The Miz: For having a pretty successful title reign

    3. Alberto Del Rio: One of the few heels in WWE that is actually booked strong

    4. Cody Rhodes: Improved himself in promos and also in his matches. His match with Rey Mysterio was one of the good highlights of that PPV

    5. Bully Ray: His heel run is one of the few things in TNA that is considered entertaining

1.) The Miz - He retained at Wrestlemania , he then had a very good spot against Steve Austin , challenging him. Miz showcased why he is the WWE's new top young star and continues to do it.

2.) Sting - TNA World Champion is pushing 50 but thus far seems to have found a fountain of youth in TNA. Pushed to make the TNA World title rebound from a horrible VR PPV , Sting has taken the main angle of Anderson/RVD/Sting and made it fun. He's also worked a lot ...a hell of a lot on TV the past 3-4 weeks.

3.) Kurt Angle - Kurt had made an angle many thought was a low point actually...fun. He's went from serious in ring angle to personal with Jarrett. He's brawled with him and mixed it up with a football player. This past week , Jarrett even got Kurt to do an entrance to the ring we'd never expect to jump him.

4.) Alberto Del Rio - Del Rio lost at Wrestlemania but won a match this past week to get Edge in a ladder rematch. He also took his smiling cool heel and showed he can play a bad side. The snapping and destroying Evan Bourne showcased that Del Rio has that other gear. He can go nasty angry !

5.) Max Buck- the last 2 weeks Buck has showcased he is gonna be a very solid heel. His arrogant demeaner and good in ring skills were on display the past 2 weeks. He beat his little brother and this week punished him for stealing his spotlight in ring.

    1. Sin Cara - for finally showing up (twice!), and stirring things up.
    2. Alberto del Rio - your number one contender, and had a really good match with Christian
    3. Steve Austin - for being the best thing on Tough Enough, and for being part of a great segment on Raw, and for doing more than just a Stunner.
    4. Davey Richards - for picking up the submission in the six-man tag on the last ROH on HDNet show.
    5. The Miz - two words - "Move, Buckwheat."

    Really only have three myself.

    1) Alberto Del Rio: won two matches, including the best match I saw on TV against Christian to become number 1 contender once again.

    2) Christian: was the other man in the best match I saw this week, but lost. Also did a nice promo with Edge that may even hint at turning heel.

    3) Sin Cara: Huge debut and showed off on both shows.

    1. Sin Cara - Am I supposed to put him here? I ask because I know he's supposed to be a big deal, fairly quick.

JK, two nights in and all the kids love him! As long as booking doesn't let him down, he's gonna go far...

He should be prepared for that though. I'm worried his attitude is gonna spring up again.

    2. Adam Cole - All he did was win this weekend. I may trash CZW rather often, but this guy has been a highlight of it for some time. Giving credit where it's due.

    3. Ultimo Guerrero and Escorpion - They put in work in that tourney, nuff said.

    4. WGTT and Davey - That six way was a fun ending to ROH's TV run.

    5. Stone Cold - For being extremely entertaining on Tough Enough, and throwing in a apology to Alicia and Melina just in case. The Divas get buried enough as it is. It's great that at least somebody in the E has the conscious to care about that.

    Unlike Michael Cole.

    1. Edge. Because it's probably the last time it will be an option.

    2. Sin Cara. This man is legit awe-inspiring in the ring.

    Edge.

Probably our last chance to nominate the guy... so it's now or never.
