I find it interesting that Marvel found one of their best and brightest by opening up the submissions process for a contest...and yet they haven't done it again since.
Might be worth, oh, I don't know, trying again?

Great article, I enjoy reading about this kind of "behind the scenes" stuff.
Keep up the good work Aaron, you kick @$$!![]()
Comics still reading: Saga, Sixth Gun, Walking Dead, All New X-Men, Daredevil, Fury MAX. DC New 52 isn't the worth the paper its printed on...
When the laughter died down, Aaron admitted to a different kind of frustration. "I could do a 'Wolverine' book and regardless of what it is, it'll sell to a certain level and 'Scalped' will never get there."
That is frustrating.

What's funny is that due to the submissions issue I just gave up on the Marvel/DC route and started doing my webcomic, and my art improved a lot more when I was focused only on the craft. While I found the process frustrating I have no complaints about the level of art/writing at the companies (Although I buy more indie stuff), it really is good stuff.
