Still not 100% sold on him. But I'm glad to hear it. It does'nt make the other 'Zany' elements of the film in the 1st act more enjoyable for me, But I'm hoping it comes together for the best."I would say that in terms of the overall film, Hal is far more aggressive in the movie than he is funny. Once we get into the middle of that second act, everything is pretty significantly serious," Reynolds said.
I thought the trailer was decent but not great... a ton of CGI, which often looked fake to me, but the tone was definitely better than in previous teasers.
It probably helped that they didn't have Blake Lively in it at all too, given that her line delivery was atrocious in the previous teaser.
I probably looks fake because none of it actually exists in real life.
Personally, I think it looks good and am excited about the movie (but...and there's always a but, I still think they've done a terrible job of marketing the film and audiences will stay away for the most part.)
What a turnaround. I am pumped for this movie.

I disagree.
LOTS of people (online and off) who were completely turned off by the original trailer and expressed no interest in seeing the film are now wanting to see it. I was always going to see the movie regardless, but I'm even more pysched by what I see.
It does obviously need to be polished up a bit, but overall it looks really good. After the trailer, even I was saying WB would be lucky to make its money back, now I'm saying it's going to be the fight this year for which movie is #1. It more than like won't make it, not with Kung Fu Panda 2 coming out, but top 5? Maybe. Top 7 probably.

I was skeptical of the trailer, I'll admit it. I was also going to see it anyway because I love Green Lantern.
At the end of the day, though there is one thing thta I think even non-comics people may like about the movie enough to give it a try. That is: Martin Campbell.
If I see his name on a movie, I watch it. The dude makes good films.
Unlike Michael Bay, who gets no more of my money, ever, no matter how cool it looks.
I HOPE I'm wrong and would love to see Green Lantern become one of the big movies of the year but a comic fan audience won't be enough of a draw to make it one. The movie has to appeal to an audience outside of fans and I'm not convinced that those in charge are even trying very hard to do that...at least as far as I've seen.
(And yes, Transformers 2 was so terrible, I didn't walk out since I have never walked out of a movie but as a Transformers fan of 30 some odd years it says alot that I have no interest in Transformers 3...I do have hope that eventually it will be rebooted as a GOOD movie.)
Are trailers, ads and mags not enough? I know the general audience likes magazines, trailers and tv spots just as much as comic book fans.
