Is the latest issue a good jumping on point or is this the story that has continued on from the back-up story? Is Detective the best Bat book at the moment for good standalone stories/arcs? (ie- not like Grant Morrison's stuff which is good but far too caught up in backstories etc for new readers I feel)

To be honest i have read articles with Snyder saying his whole run is connected. I have jumped on with his first issue and it has been an awesome ride! Go pick up the back issues you will not be disappointed. I am sure you can jump on with 875 but his run started at 871 so its not too many to pick up. Snyder has been killing it since he began his run. This is my favorite title on stands but only out beats x force by a little :P Arts great, storys great and inking adds an awesome creepy tone. but know some of the issues do not really involve bats. Yet both their stories are intertwined, ull see what i mean if you pick up back issues. If you have any questions, just let me kno

Really hope that cover changes. Looks like a mess. The cover for 871 was perfect for a hard cover as well.

228 page though... seems like that would cover up till #880... and if it the rumors are true, the big story ends with 881, so that trade might consist of EVERYTHING and be even bigger.
