Default CBR: WC11: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Return at IDW

IDW Publishing announced at WonderCon that they have acquired the license for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," bringing Turtle Power back to comics late this summer. We spoke with Scott Dunbier about the news.

I just hope the comic has colour this time around.

Finally. This has been a rumour for soooo long.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

I'm hoping it returns to it original roots. Violent, B&W goodness. None of this kiddie crap from the cartoons

Very cool but this isn't some cruel apri fool's joke right? Got to be careful today. I'm long time (i do mean long) TMNT fan and idw gets cooler all the time. I am glad with the comic return though Mirage book got weird with Vampire Ralph that made Ralph look like he did during last season of original cartoon (The nightmares). Then there was April stuff where she ended up someone created her from drawing or something and then leaving the book. Then thankfully they went to Tales pretty much ignoring that.

Who decided that April Fool's Day was a good day to announce this stuff?!

Seriously, though... I fully support this and will be buying!! I bought directly from Mirage over the past decade and before that I bought the old stuff from comic shops. I'm certainly not about to stop collecting as long as it's out there.

Also, a TPB of City at War would be super nice!

Lastly, bring back Tristian Jones! He did excellent work when attached to Tales of the TMNT and he certainly deserves a spot on the creative team with IDW's TMNT!

EDIT: Also, Kudos to IDW for getting this stuff out so early! I'm glad I don't have to wait until 2012 for new TMNT.

Definitely intrigued by this announcement. I loved the original animated series when I was a kid. I could see picking this up depending on the creative team.

Black and white would be pretty awesome, but to be honest I liked the color in volume 2 as much as I liked the black and white from the first volume.

More and more IDW is becoming one of my favorite publishers, they have Doctor Who, Star Trek, Godzilla and now The Rocketeer and the Turtles. That's an amazing output.

I read that they were doing a PG + book, but it doesn't hurt to want a hard PG-13, R book like the original series was.

Yeah I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just a B&W buff. Also, returning to their roots, to me would mean B&W

I have all of vol. 2 and have yet to even crack the first issue open. Too many comics...

Vol. 2 was pretty good, it was sad that it was cut short. And I too love B&W, especially when it comes to the ninja turtles, though I must say the Black, White and Red used in some fan drawings of the original turtles looks pretty excellent so to me that would be ideal in a Sin City kind of way.
