CBR: Hickman, Paterra Introduce "The Red Wing"

Writer Jonathan Hickman teams with artist Nick Paterra and Image Comics to return to the world of creator-owned comics with "The Red Wing," a futuristic new series set to debut in July 2011.

OH HELL YES. I love Hickman's independent stuff even more than his Marvel work, even though I love that too. AND he'll be drawing again after this series?!?! AAAAAAAGH!!!!! So excited.

Interesting that Hickman hasn't been given access to Icon yet. I really thought his next creator book would have been done through that.

Either way, this book sounds cool. I'll have check it out.

Nick is a terrific talent. he's done a couple small things, and they're fucking great. check him out before this hit, if you haven't already.

and of course, I'm stoked on this. I like Hickman's creator owned stuff a ton.

Hopefully the reason he is going through Image is because he is staying loyal to the people that welcomed him to the party; from all the interviews I have read with him, he sounds like that kind of guy.

Very please to see a return to creator owned material published through Image!
