I can tell you what those plans out. Mutants are screwed. Heroes are d-bags. And Jean Grey is just going to become the same manipulative, crass, amoral psychic that Xavier became. I would rather she be among the dead in Ultimate. She has no personality. She has no depth. She's the complete antithesis of the outgoing, passionate, and caring woman that made her Ultimate version so lovable. She should die along with the rest of Ultimate. That book isn't even selling as well as X-men Forever did when it was out. The sooner it dies, the better.

If Jean Grey isn't coming back, can we at least get an idea why? You guys always seem too busy belittling fans of characters you don't like to answer real, polite questions. Just want to know why it's so important that Jean Grey stays dead.


Brevoort: I feel like we've gone around and around on this issue a lot, and it's not that I haven't explained the position, it's that you fundamentally disagree with it, so you don't accept it. It isn't "vitally" important that Jean stay dead, but she's dead, most people who die don't get to come back, it's nice when death isn't a crazy revolving door, events within the X-Men have moved on since she died, and there hasn't been a good enough reason to bring her back. That's about the sum total of it.

Jean could be reincarnated from a black man for all we know. Assuming reincarnation exists, being a different race doesnt matter. Some who beleive in reincarnation think you could even originate from animals in a past life. Just saying...

When I read the issue, I didnt even think of Jean but I definetly think Hope was reincarnated from her. Would be like Marvel to say all 3 women are variations of each other in that when one dies, another red head with green eyes emerges to take her place linked to the Phoenix. I would hate for it to be like that but Im thinking thats how it might go down.
