Not to bag on Rachel too much, but compared to Jean she has much more impressive feats, a richer back story, and far more fleshed out characterization, but is severely lacking when it comes to getting people to care, which is probably why she's so often neglected. Who knows though, maybe Wood will get that turned around.

I admit this is true for me. I've tried to like Rachel, but it's just never clicked for me, so at this point I'm just indifferent to her. I'm glad she's in Wood's X-Men, but I doubt that'll do much to raise my interest in her.

We only have mentioned Jean on occasion and scarcely ever bitched about her because most of us feel tired of the whole meaningless Emma/Jean argument already. You aren't one of those who has never browsed Emma thread before, I have no idea why you are saying BS like this and trying to provoke the hatred between their fans.

Scott and Jean is X-Men nostalgia at its most extreme. They represent the kinder simpler times of a the poor lonely boy and the girl who loved him but was too good for this world.

As crap as that it is I doubt Marvel would ever ditch it because it's thematic gold and I think has some dollar pull to it. Why else are they the only relationship that consistently rates in X-Men in the non-comic media?

In all honestly if written right Jean and Scott can work their problem is and has always been, when their written together Jean is written down in order to be his equal when instead he should step up and become hers. If for once in their relationship besides the DPS the focus was on Jean just slight a bit more they could be awesome Jean isn't and has never been the type of character who needs a lot of attention all she has ever required was a little acknowledgement the pieces to writing a good Jean is always there it's only when only small aspects of the character is used that she seems less. Jean is a lot of small pieces that makes up a very dynamic woman and when she is allowed to be whole there isn't anyone like her.
