Yeah. In fact, the movie should open with Deadpool sat watching a re-run of The Golden Girls, bemoaning the loss of his favourite actress and eating a plate full of chimichangas.

    Perfection!

My 1st exposure to Deadpool was in the Cable/Deadpool series (I picked up the 1st trade and quickly got the rest. I loved that book from start to finish). The opening was him watching "Golden Girls" and waiting for a call for a job. LOL

The scene where he answers the phone and then tells the client to hold while he runs off and puts on his mask?
That's one of my favourite Deadpool moments, along with him dragon punching Kitty Pride and the scene where he 'borrows' Jean Grey's old Marvel Girl costume.

Yes to all of those! LOL Such a great book even after the main co-star was written out.

I think the movie should open with the stinger from Wolverine: Origins. The Not-Deadpool guy is reaching to pick up his head, and then Deadpool comes, kicks the head away, and just says "Who the Hell was that guy?"

Anything that has Deadpool taking the p*** out of Wolverine: Origins would be welcome in my book.

Anyway, I think we'd better get this thread back on-topic. It's been spectacularly derailed.

    That could be interesting casting.

You could believe that he has been killing interesting things since long before Peter Parker was born.

...how would you finesse the idea that Kraven "Never" uses guns or bows?

Sony clutching as tight as they can to those movie rights. At the very least, that means we're probably gonna keep seeing Spidey movies for years to come...lets hope this is a good direction to go in, at least!

It's nice to see they're fast-tracking it. I hope this means that Sony likes what they've seen thus far.

I really hope the movie does well and while I have seen little things that irk me (not keen on Garfield as Pete, just seems to lack that nerd factor of the character), its likely something that I can get over. If the plot is decent and they make a good origin mix story with the Lizard getting his time in the spotlight, I am happy.

Id love to see classic villains as well. A good way for that could be to bring in the Sinister Six. The movie could start kinda like X-Men did, with each villain getting a 5-10 minute bit to explain the origin. Plus, I would also love to see Kingpin but I cannot for the life of me think of a huge actor to fill the role

JK Simmons has to be recast as Jameson. I thought he nailed it in the first three personally.

This was briefly discussed in another thread - I think it could happen. Dame Judy is still M so it's possible to reuse an actor in a reboot.
And I hope when you think of me years down the line
You can't find one good thing to say.
And I hope that if I found the strength to walk out
You'd stay the hell out of my way.
