Even though she's probably going to be way too busy to make it work, there's been some fanboy chatter about Jennifer Lawrence (with red hair) as MJ.

I think Washington is too big of an actor to have a role like Robbie. As good as he was, I don't want JK Simmons back as Jonah as this is a new series. I think that is why the producers decided to not include Jonah in this movie, so that a new actor will be less of a shock in ASM2.
I'm yet to see the movie, but I am sure that Gwen will die in the second (though they may surprise me and kill her in this one!) Even dead, I think Stone will appear in any sequels similar to how Uncle Ben did in the first trilogy.
I like the idea of Jennifer Lawrence as MJ, I don't know if I'd have considered her for the role but I could see it working. I don't see the need for a well known to play as role as minor as Betty and I think the rogue for the next movie will be Osborn or Ock. Similar to how The Dark Knight brought out two 'big guns' for that trilogy, I can see them doing the same for this one. Especially with Oscorp featuring so prominently in this first movie.
In what capacity is she included? Anyway, ASM2 it is then.
If you go on the site, it says she is an "ally" which probably means she will be appearing to help Spidey at least a couple of times in the movie. But, ASM 2 is definitely a possibility. Did anyone else hear about the OsCorp tower almost appearing in the Avengers film? Might mean something for the future of this franchise. Spider-Man might very well be IN THE MCU!!! Come later movies anyway....retcon!
Life has its own share of twists and turns. Pick friends who are willing to keep you on the roller coaster.
Agreed. Great idea cuz she's also a good actress and can hold her own with Garfield / Stone. Either that or I've always said Mila Kunis dyed red.
I think I'm the only person on the planet who thinks Denzel Washington would be amazing as Lex Luthor. came up with the notion way back when I read that Tony Scott was in the running for Superman. If there's any flesh and blood mortal who can stare down Superman with menace and you'd buy it, it's Washington.
And I'd say keeping JK Simmons would be a fun wink & nod to the past (Hell, bring back the whole Daily Bugle crew / set). The guy is really, really, really good in the role and, hey, they kept Judi Dench as M and that's also a Sony flick!
Jennifer Lawrence is already working in two blockbuster franchises so I doubt she would have time for a third one. Though it would be far and away much superior casting to Dunst. But have any of you guys considered True Blood's Deborah Ann Woll as beloved Mary Jane? Just run a Google images search on her and you will see that the girl has a versatile look. From smoldering sexy-
to gorgeous in a more wholesome way-
I would eagerly post more but damn CBR limit on images per post.
Plus, if any of you do watch True Blood, you would know that she has mad acting range and is just a superstar waiting to breakout. Which is exactly the kind of actress who should play MJ in this new franchise. Someone who isn't already as big as Emma Stone, but who has the capability of holding her own against Andrew and Emma. And who can express a plethora of emotions and layered personality traits in a graceful, endearing manner. Her character of Jessica on the show is, in a way, a less world weary (and a vampire) version of Mary Jane. Here is an amazing scene from the show where Jessica (a recently turned vampire coming from a heavily sheltered, conservative upbringing) goes out looking for some fun and ends up meeting Hoyt (an empathetic, kind and adorable Mama's boy not very unlike Peter), and slowly ends up falling for him against her vampire instincts-
In the reality set by the show, vampires are heavily discriminated against in society. So to out oneself as one, especially to someone you just met in a small Southern town pub, it takes guts. Notice the wonderful way she expresses her reservations before finally resolving to admit being a vamp to Hoyt. No words, just through facial and body language. Deborah Ann Woll is an amazing actress!

^ never seen the show but very impassioned & rational case. Also, pic of hot chick in bra. co-worker saw me looking at it and said "Yeah". (he does watch True Blood)
If she can fake an American accent, the Scottish-born Karen Gillan would make a wonderful Mary Jane. She has the look down! (And yes, she is a real redhead.)

Amy Pond! But as MJ? I don' know.
Way back when they were casting for TASM and it was unknown which love interest(s) would be used in the movie(there was a rumor going around that it was to be a love triangle between Peter, Gwen and MJ), there was this Georgian(country, not state) born actress named Elena Satine who was really campaigning to nab the role of MJ as she was a big fan. She even auditioned for the TASM casting, thinking it was MJ she was auditioning for instead of Gwen (similarly, that was what Emma Stone thought as well and has even said she wanted to play Mary Jane onscreen). Elena Satine even claims to have met Stan the Man at one of the Comic Cons (I guess?) where upon seeing her, he exclaimed, "Why, it's MJ!". Here is her IMDB page and I must say, I see where Stan was coming from-

Satine has also played Mera (Aquaman's wife) on Smallville. She definitely has the looks and passion to play the role, but also has an incredibly strong accent. Would she be able to pull off the perfect Mary Jane?
