Given her general aversion to actually using her powers, I doubt she's trained herself well enough to do so, even though the potential is clearly there. It was only possible before because her abilities became more potent with her addiction to rave.

She's been absent from comics for a long time so we don't really know what she's learned and can accomplish with her abilities. She obviously has control to consciously create force fields now whereas she didn't when she first appeared. Maybe now that she's going out on missions she'll be more likely to use them like that (Not with the intention to kill of course).

I guess you're right. I just would have assumed that her focus was on her career instead. Then again, she was living on Utopia for a time (even though I feel that goes against some of her most important beliefs). It'd be interesting, in fact, to see her reaction to having retained her powers after M-Day given that she wasn't ever exactly enthused about being a mutant, lol:

Well she was also a prisoner on Neverland for a while. Maybe that coupled with her time with the X-Men changed her views somewhat and made her realize she doesn't really have choice in the matter.

I'm honestly just glad she's getting page time again.lol

True. I haven't actually read her appearances in Weapon X. I avoided it at the time out of fear that she would be mercilessly killed off. =[ And yeah, I completely agree. I'm delighted Liu keeps bringing back to the fore.

Bumping this thread because apparently Cecilia was in Marjorie Liu's rejected Lady Liberators pitch! It was going to be either her or X-23. The cast is kind of bizarre, but it could have been awesome:

Well Cece and BW are about two of the only things Liu writes well so I would have probably picked it up.

Lots of discussion about Cece in Marjorie Liu's latest X-Position. I'm really pleased with how she answered my questions. Even though I wish she'd inject a little more attitude into her depiction of Cecilia, it's clear that Liu has both a deep understanding and a thorough appreciation of the good doctor, for which I'm truly grateful. We also get a look as CeCe as drawn by Gabriel Hernandez Walta. Lovely!
