Default CBR: C2E2: Williams Blazes a New Trail for "Ghost Rider"

I am a big fan of Jason Aaron's treatment of Blaze & company so I am interested to see how Williams takes on the GR mythos. Hopefully this book will get a strong response as the character is due for a good strong and durable run.

Matthew Clark a good story-teller ?...mm, no.
I think I must be doomed : he's working onto all the characters I like.

I'm not very familiar with Williams, so I'm curious without being excited.

That said, and I'm not sure this is the place for this discussion, but I do wish that Marvel, instead of constantly launching new ongoings that will likely be canceled within a year, would instead launch mini-or maxi-series with the idea that if sales are strong they'll continue past the first story arc. That way we wouldn't get so many books that feel like they're ending before their time, and we'd have commitments to at least one complete story.

I am torn. While I like the ideas laid out here, I'm a bit tired of Blaze as a character. He's already lost his wife & family. What more can they do to him to make him CARE?

Wait, doesnt Blaze have free reign to do what he wants now as the GR? He can even call on God and threaten him.... why would he want to get rid of the Holy Rider? That should be his new name.

    Holy Rider

Interested in this, if only because the Shadowland one shot he did with the character was the best thing to come out of that awful event.

I enjoyed Clark's art on Doom Patrol at DC, but I hope they get a whole bunch of issues in the can before they release the first issue. Clark has had a whole lot of lateness issues on Doom Patrol that forced DC to use Ron Randall as his co-artist.

I like Clark's art, Rob Williams I do not know.

I'm looking forward to this because my inner child that LOVED Ghost Rider back in the day wont let me ignore it, but I dont see a reason to have any hope that this new series will actually last. I wish they would try something new with the character, something to actually get people excited about the character again before asking them to be interested in yet another series.

Maybe join the supporting cast of a book for a while. Or join a team. I know it'd be a little weird, but I always kinda wanted to see him on the Avengers.

Rob Williams wrote the recent Captain America & The Falcon one shot, it was a solid if fairly conventional and maybe a little stereotyped Falcon solo story.

Couldnt be more different to Ghost Rider, so i have no clue whether it will be good or not. Still if its priced at $2.99 maybe ill give it a shot.

Historically ongoings sell stronger than mini or maxi series, so it makes sense to launch as an ongoing and note the numbers.

I also wish though that the creative team was more high profile. Ghost Rider seems like a character that should be a "Big shot".
