    Default DCU LEGACIES 10 (spoilers)

Nothing surprising in the main story: is this supposed to be the future? Is this being his random ramblings the excuse for the messed up time line? Either way, it certainly isn't the definitive history it was sold as. As for the Blue Beetle back-up: I loved that it didn't have Dan in WW2, and hated that theyu seem to think the LAW mini took place during the JLI years.

    Both endings made me sad.

Yeah, I figured the ending was to excuse all of the timeline errors.

I thought it was an enjoyable series overall. It started off better than it finished, but #10 was pretty strong in and of itself, so that sort of brought it up a couple of points for me in the end.

I'd probably give it a 7/10. I agree that it's definitely not the definitive history of the DCU that I was hoping for, but as a story, I thought it was entertaining enough.

one thing that bothered me in the back up was that they show BB infiltrating what looks like a generic office building and not Checkmate castle. It's a minor thing but overall I liked picking this series up every month. It came out consistently and i always looked forward to seeing who they would get for the back up artist. Really though, I thought DCUL was all about the backups. While I can't see myself re-reading this again anytime soon I'm glad i stuck with it. It will be interesting to see how they collect it. I think this will probably NOT work as well in a TPB or hardcover.

I've been one of this series few fans, but I have to admit, the finale was a disappointment. We get Identity Crisis and then a few OMAC's, and that's it? I thought it would go at least through Final Crisis or Blackest Night. And I've been enjoying the narrator's story about himself, his friends and family so much, I was very unhappy with the "everybody dies" conclusion. Finally, what's with the art? They've had some top-notch artists on this in the past, but this time we get Jesus Saiz doing only six pages (which aren't up to his usual quality) and then a fill-in artist doing the bulk of the story? It makes you think they just wanted to get it over with.

I haven't read the back-up yet, but at least it has nice art.

I was annoyed by the needless deaths, was kinda tacky.

And the doctor being called to the hospital asap to tell someone they had cancer? No hospital I know works like that, but whatever.

The cover was a bit strange. It was supposed to be modern, with Hal in his modern uniform with the V-shape at the waist, but his hair is miscoloured with the greyed temples.

And what is the text behind the right half behind the 'Legacies' logo?

Did they forget to take out temporary text from the layout?

I really loved the first half of this series but these last few issues have been disappointing.. Not so much because of Len Wein and his artists but because trying to fit all the ridiculous events since Crisis into these issues has taken a lot away from the original charm of the book. Plus, getting reminding me about Identity Crisis doesn't help anyone's cause. Can somewhat bring Sue and Ralph back soon, please? Anyone?

The Ted Kord backup was cool though. Especially the artwork. But again, it's just such a downer way to end this series.

If anything proves that the DCU in general needs to lighten up, it's the last few issues of DC Legacies.

I liked the idea of them as ghost detectives; I wish they'd done more with that.

Yeah.It sound like DC dont even remember that.

This whole mini serie was a huge waste of money and a disapointment for me.
It started good but then it did'nt make much sence.
    It was full of mistakes.

I read this whole series over the weekend.

Wonderful, wonderful series. The main "backbone" story was nice (albeit it was a downer of an ending), and the timeline issues never concerned or bothered me. And when I started feeling that nitpicky urge......I let it go, and it was nice to do that for a change.

(Interesting how they skipped Zero Hour and anything beyond Infinite Crisis, though......was that giving into the urge? Ahh!)

And the backups were amazing. Nice little short stories, with impressive talent. What a delight to see Quitely draw New Gods, Simonson visit classic DC cosmic and Bolland return to interiors to give us the Atom in Camelot.
