as much as I liked the AoA I wish that awful 2000's mini series could be ignored and I'm not sure what's left there to do. DarK Beast appearing is a plus though.
I am guessing Shadow King pushes Angel over the edge and that Psylocke's mental powers, which pale in comparison to Farouk's, fail to protect the man she purports to love.
