Default how did Hancock paint the Moon at the end of the movie?

At the end of Hancock, the titular character "paints" a large red heart on the near side of the Moon. The thing is, there's probably nowhere enough red paint to make that possible. The only other explanation is that Hancock used some sort of heat ray to melt the surface of the moon, a la Superman. However, he didn't seem to show any heat-generating feats. So, how did he do it?

Picked a ton of sand from the Sahara, which he then ferried to the Moon, with the different albedo providing the chromatic contrast. Alternatively, Martian dust.

Obviously he killed the entirety of the once proud moon-people civilisation and used their blood as paint.

Blood. Lots and lots of blood. Where did he get it? He's not saying.

I'm actually quite sure there is enough red paint to make that heart.
