Scott Snyder speaks, I listen.
Please be Cass please be Cass and maybe even Jason though I doubt he would be included but at least Cass please oh pleasebringing together members of the Bat-family like Dick and Tim and some surprising ones as well and then stretched all the way back to an unsolved case to do with the building of Gotham itself in the gilded age.
Snyder is awesome! I never used to pick up floppies before his run on Detective! I really do hope He, Lemire, Cornell, Tomasi, Gates, and Bedard all have big plans coming down the DC pipeline, and its not just one of those things writers say. They deserve big projects and top tier artists, and if they get it maybe DC could have more than one Geoff Johns on their hands!
They are on the cover of Gates of Gotham #2...
This was an interesting interview, I feel like more of a fan of Scott Snyder since I got the American Vampire hardcover the other day. His work on 'Tec is really going places. I like how he says they're focusing on keeping it smaller - so often a good run is defined by making the scope bigger, but Detective with Snyder is more of a tense, detail-focused thriller.

Great interview. I really like what Snyder's doing in Detective with not just Dick but also the city of Gotham. It is also nice to see that he is going to be digging into Tim and Dick's relationship as I find their brotherly bond to be one of the highlights of the Bat books. Also, yay for Damian coming into Detective in the future.
Interesting interview. I didn't realize that the extent of his involvement in Gates of Gotham was as co-plotter, but I will probably still check it out.

Fantastic interview. I really view Batman in a lot of the same ways that Scott does, so it makes sense why I enjoy his run so much. I hope he stays on the book for a very long time.
I said this before but I'd love for him to use Kate Kane in his run. I think she'd fit in to that universe so well; Elegy certainly had horror elements and was a real dark street-level tale. I think as a character she complements Dick very well, and they have good chemistry (as seen in the Morrison B&R three-parter). Plus they also have the two best costumes.
I was also a little disappointed to hear that he's just the co-plotter of Gates of Gotham, but like Jim said I will still pick it up. It sounds like a great story and the art looks really nice, and since I'm sure it will complement Snyder's Tec run, it's still a win-win.
How old is James Jr. supposed to be anyway? He was only a baby when Batman saved him in Year One, so his age should correlate with how long Bruce has been Batman.
Scott really knows how to make an interview doesn't he? This new interview made me even more excited for his run, if that is even possible. The Black Mirror arc and the re-introduction of James Gordon Junior as a sociopath far exceeded my expectations. I went from "Huh? Who is this Scott Snyder guy" to "Wow, Scott is on this book? MUST BUY!!!!". Amazing writer, and it is even more amazing that he has Jock and Francesco to draw beautiful art for his run!
Sonya sounds good. A daughter of a crook who tried to be legitimate, and I wonder how will she and Dick/Batman interact. Glad to see Red Robin more in this title and Scott is in fact interested in using Damian. Although the background surrounding Damian (how he's born, how will he turn out) is quite dark, I can't recall any moment where Damian really takes part in a dark story, in fact, his snarkiness actually made the atmosphere lighter. I'm looking forward to seeing him in Detective!
"Criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot." - Dick Grayson
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." - Damian Wayne
Not to mention Streets of Gotham. That was dark--and deliberately ambiguous to make you wonder whether Damian's anger and sense of horror was enough to make him relapse in his changed ways.
Overall though, I won't disagree that his snark and snobbery comes off humoruos against Dick's unfazed, pollyanna attitude, but remove Dick and often you're removing Damian's safety net. The plot can get a bit adult for him when he is facing physical or emotional challenges on his own.
