Default CBR: Aronofsky Exits "The Wolverine"

Citing too much international travel as his reason for leaving the production, acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky will not helm Fox's upcoming X-Men sequel "The Wolverine" though Hugh Jackman will push forward.

That's kind of disappointing, I was really looking forward to seeing what his take on Wolverine might have been.

This is very dissappointing news. I was really looking forward to seeing Aronofsky on a superhero film.

International traveling is a reason to stop a job now?

Random rumor mongering -- passport issues?
The Punisher: Iím going to cauterize your rectum, sealing it shut, so when you turn those delicious Pink Pantsô Fruit Pies into waste products the bilirubin in your feces will leach into your bloodstream and youíll die screaming! And Iíll watch while having sex with this grateful prostitute!

Trussed-Up Hooker: Blueberry are my favorite!

In other words, what StoneGold said.

Is it being filmed in Japan? Is that the reason for his sudden trepidation?

Aaaaaand interest in this film just dropped to "zero."

They'll have a really hard time finding someone to replace Aronofsky that can re-ignite it, too.

Oh thank god, i couldn't think of a worse choice for a director to an action flick.
BTW, after years of bashing this guys direction, he made a movie i liked. And i still think all his past work indicates he would have been awful on this.

Such disappointing news. He was the only thing keeping me interested in the film. Now I just couldn't care less.

I was looking forward to his take. It's going to be tough to find a replacement. David O. Russell maybe.

Well that sucks. Aronofsky was pretty much the sole reason I was interested in this movie.

It'll be interesting to see who replaces him--if Fox will go for a tried-and-true action director, or someone more cerebral like Aronofsky.
