I've been reading some of the comics that have piled up these past couple of months. I read Kingdom of Monsters #1-4. Like I said earlier in the thread, I'm not a Godzilla fan, but I like comics that are fun. This book is fun. The addition of pop culture satire is, in my opinion, the perfect take on the Godzilla.

I think it's time to crack open Gangsters & Goliaths.

Following the mini-series, "Gangsters & Goliaths", there will be a new mini-series anthology of one shots, each with a new creative team, called Godzilla: Legends.

Here is a cover preview for the first issue, illustrated and co-written by Matt Frank:

EDIT: Sorry about the bad link... should be fixed now!

Looks like th good folks of CBR have posted a report from the IDW panel at Comic Con.

There's some cool info on the "Godzilla: Legends" miniseries!

The wheel spun again, this time landing on IDW's Godzilla line. "Godzilla: Monster World" by Eric Powell and Tracy Marsh with art Victor Santos continues, but with new challenges for Powell. "The really difficult thing when they approached us about doing it was trying to figure out how to do the concept of Godzilla, which is really formulaic -- monsters come, monsters fight and destroy -- you can't really do an ongoing story with that," said Powell. "We've been trying to do something more along the lines of a satire. Really, kind of 'Mad Max' with monsters in it."

In addition to Powell and Marsh's ongoing series, John Layman will be writing a five-issue miniseries with art by Alberto Pontincelli called "Godzilla Gangsters and Goliaths." Rounding out the monster-sized pack of Godzilla books is "Godzilla Legends," a five-issue spotlight series that highlights five different monsters -- Anguirus, Destroyah, Rodan, Titanosaurus and Kumonga -- with five different creative teams. IDW didn't announce any of the teams yet, simply stating that Godzilla fans have a lot to look forward to in the future.

Can't wait for those Legends books!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

Perhaps two of the most kick@$$ pics of Mechagodzilla in the issue! The first image is during the tussle with Godzilla, and the second is all battle-damaged up and stomping around Atlanta.

Slowly, more information on the new Godzilla:Legends series is coming out.

Issue #2 is reported to be written by Jonathan Vankin and features Rodan as one of the main monsters, with covers by Art Adams and well known Godzilla artist Chris Scalf.

Issue #3 will focus on Titanosaurus--and Bob Eggleton recently posted a sketch of his cover on his blog:
