This comes out the 30th right? I'm looking to pick this up, the art released so far looks really great, it has a sort of Mike Mignola feel to it, atleast in black in white like in this picture anyway:

I forgot that IDW was going to be doing a Godzilla book. That looks great. Phil Hester is doing the art too, awesome. I definitely see the Mignola feel to it in the black, and white pages, and agree with you on that.

Is this going to be an ongoing book or is it a mini-series? I must've missed all of the interviews about this book. This looks like it could be a fun book, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Pretty sure it's an ongoing series.

    I'm very excited about this.

I haven't seen many interviews myself, the only way I found out about it was the article on bleedingcool about how IDW would make a collectable comic cover for any store that ordered 500 copies of the book that featured Godzilla crushing their store.

I doubt my store will have that but it was cool enough to get me interested.

Great interview! It seems like they really get Godzilla, between this, Doctor Who and the up coming Rocketeer Adventures I'm really loving IDW's output.

Ha, well maybe they bought into the promotion. 500 copies seemed like a steep incentive to me though, I think they would have gotten a lot more stores to really hype Godzilla if it were say a hundred rather than 500. But it's still pretty cool regardless.

    Default On-going + Miniseries

I heard on a podcast that there will be an On-Going with Eric Powell and Phil Hester, and then also *multiple* miniseries (!). IDW June solicits mention "Godzilla: Gangsters and Goliaths" written by Chew's John Layman with art by Alberto Ponticelli of Unknown Soldier.

A good time for monster comics!

It would be cool to see some spin off mini series featuring some of the other monsters, stuff like that would really help flesh out the world.

My store did it and it is only one store. Not a chain.
