Mesmero stands in front of the group, accused of his traitorousness.

"Ha! Sure, you think you have me pegged.... you're going to think we are so smart and powerful but you're not even CLOSE, bub! You see I wasn't the most dangerous... I was just the entertainment! Now, I know some of you might think I've sold you all out to Sir Andrew... but no. The Lord... the man I sold you to is the master of the true rings himself... The Mandarin! And, by the way, he told me to tell you all you have...

The mutant taps his inner ear. "...five minutes left. Not sure what he meant by that." With the group more or less dumbfounded by his words, Mes bursts into song!

"Swallow on those words, fools! Maestro, if you please..."

He hums a short rhythm and sings in time.

"Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse!
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a whistle!
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

He twirls forward, gracefully, and takes Anaconda by her stretchy arms. The burly snakewoman and sickly-skinned mutant promenade gracefully amongst lab doors--!

"Hey, look at me! I'm dancing! This is just like the mixer scene in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE! Wow, we're really swell hoofers, huh?"

Soon, all dies down... but the room continues to shake... and with a bright spark, the force-field ceiling of the hallway gives way!

CRUUNNNNCH!!

Mesmero is crushed underneath Monica's massive onomatopoeia. I mean, her heel. With the ceiling and forcefield shattered, however, you can hear alarms blaring. The Scientist Supreme has apparently staggered backwards into the miniature hallway, struggling in conflict with something else.

"Work, damn it! WORK!!", her hands are by her head, attempting to focus the power of the Mind Gem. "I refuse to believe that... that abortion of science is correct in my inability to harness the Gem... but then, the Power Primordial is one not yet analyzed by anyone... save the universal entities that maintain them..."

The cunning and brilliant woman, calculating in her head, now resorts to using a concussive energy pistol and firing at something coming down the hall. Scraping her heel against the ground, disgusted, she speaks.

"Ugh! Of course, we get attacked, and the first thing I step in instead of terracotta soldiers is a shrunken mutan--

Wait... who just left this in here? I told them to-- YOU!"

She turns swiftly, kicking through the wall of one tiny laboratory as she approaches the frantic A.I.M. Superior-Supervisor at his observation post. Out of the broken lab, Pym-particlized but massively muscled and skinless men in speedos, along with robot flame-engulfed polar bears, are scattered while you carefully avoid them.

As the smoke clears, you see The Grim Reaper unconscious and incapacitated in nearyou. Some Traitor must have struck at him while you were all distracted, but he is still breathing.

Monica continues shouting as M.O.D.O.K. turns to you all. Keen listeners may be able to keep up with parts of both conversations.

"Excellent... apparently my own escape plan is unnecessary. It appears we are going to be taken captive by yet another... admirer of the Gem's power."

"--move them to a more protected area so I could personally observe the testing!"

"Hey, I didn't get asked do that, Doctor Rappacini. Shouldn't you be blaming that transfer guy--"

"Of course, there are still two of our number that seek to destroy us all. Clearly Minion Reaper was not one of them, but remain on your appendages and enlighten me to your suspicions. I have my own, and yes, I indeed calculated to 76.66% certainty that Mesmero had betrayed me. But only 9.93% certainty that he was working for the Mandarin, far from a feasible conclusion to share with you all."

"--experimental Infinihall technology, I want them contained. Now."

"...you mean that extremely unstable you cribbed from the prototype Avenger's Mansion Pym and Rich--"

"I calculate to 66.58% probability I will be asked to come to terms and work with The Mandarin and cooperate to award him the Gem and enable A.I.M. to work subservient under him. It is within 94.14% I will fabricate a truth and allow Monica to maintain the Gem for a time until we can better take the advantage."

"--force M.O.D.O.K. to use the power within Gem? We've manipulated his corpse before... his brain can't b--'"

"As if I hadn't already considered those possibilities! FOOL! I am SCIENTIST SUPREME!"

"But what about the Ada-- Holy ####, Doctor, watch out behind you!!"

As the room itself continued to shake violently, a giant metallic hand bursts through the floor and closes over you.

"INITIATING TELEPORT RECOVERY..."

Your world goes white once again, as you hear a woman, likely Monica, echo a bloodcurdling scream.

The Mandarin's Warship, 08:42 Hours, March 19th, 2011

"So, you found my own personal infiltrator, have you? Mmm... unfortunate. Most unfortunate. But alas, Mesmero's sacrifice will not be in vain. For in only moments the Advanced Idea Mechanics facility shall crumble to the power of my personal warship. I will crush my enemies. I will see them driven before me. I will hear the lamentations of their woman. Rappacini will kneel before me, delivering a service most satisfying.

The cloaked figure pauses for a moment some might consider... too long. He turns toward you.

"Turning over The Mind Gem, of course. Not that I, THE MANDARIN, would mind her as a concubine; our progeny together would create a most formidable child indeed...

But enough of these... dalliances. She will be, at the very least, distracted long enough, by my upgrades to Ultimo, for my plans to continue. M.O.D.O.K.! I have need of you. Matters that require... discussion. If you will so indulge me..."

The Mandarin raises his right middle finger as the minuscule M.O.D.O.K. is levitated out away from the group. Saying nothing and nodding, your fearless leader trusts you to trust him. It's about now you notice the Reaper's body has vanished, but not Mesmero's. Sabretooth approaches the corpse, animalistically.

"As for the rest of you... *ahem*... you shall be most occupied with an experiment of my own...

Ruby Thursday found herself located in a shrunken city populated entirely by dragons. She shrugged with indifference. Membership in the Headmen conferred offered a whole new meaning to the word, "weird." She calmly walked up to the nearest Makluan and tapped her on the shoulder.



"Excuse me, ma'am, do you speak English or any known language associated with Earth, the Kree, Skrull, Badoon or Shi'ar languge families, and if not could you please state fourteen words so I can extrapolate your vocabulary and syntax?"

"Ez dago! Monstruo bat! Zure bizitzarako ihes egin!" The nice lady dragon turned and ran screaming.

"Well!" Ruby said, putting both of her hands on her hips, plus an additional two hands she created out of her head, "That was just RUDE!" She waved two fists in the air and screamed, "Torloju duzu izurri!"
