Great issue of UXM today. Really liked seeing the whole Cap/Cyke confrontation play out through his pov. And in other news AvX: VS is complete trash

Sounds good! Hope they answer it.
I'm so looking forward to more interior thoughts from Namor and, well actually everyone. It's the one thing I've thought Gillen was missing from UXM.
SOOOOO disappointed by what I'm hearing about AvX VS.I really thought Kathryn Immonen would have at least made it entertaining.
my god vs. was truly absurd. namor is still in this fight for the long-haul tho.
I got it anyway. And read it. And am so sad.
Not so much because Namor lost, but the way he lost. And even worse, how he was portrayed as incompetent in his own environment, totally 2D, and well, boring. I was so excited when I heard the Immonen's were doing this story, cause I thought it would be fun and the dialog would sparkle. Instead, it was just Thing quips and Namor feeding him material for the quips.
I even have to take Stuart Immonen's art to task, as I STILL can't figure out what the heck happened so that Namor is floating around and then laying on the ground going ungggg??? Really? WTF?
Namor got cocky by lifting that big fish. He got what he deserved
A Formspring question at TomB's account:
I really wish I'd seen this BEFORE I sent off my questions to the X-Office. I took a more playful tone, but I'd have had a much harder line of questions after reading this.Q: I'm sure you've got a million of these posts...but that Namor/Thing fight....disliking that is NOT a matter of opinion or taste. It basically sh*t on everything about Namor's character and history.
TomB: I'm sorry, but that is absolutely a matter of opinion and taste. Sorry you didn't care for it. Amazing that the X-office edited that book, huh?Though, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I've always felt that the X-Office didn't really appreciate or understand Namor.
Thank god for Gillen.
Damn, whose ass do i have to whoop for Namor to get some respect?
Seriously. At this point, I'd gladly donate some of my Namor books to them, if they would actually read them.
Here comes another one of my crazy ideas. I dont know if you guys have been reading n52 wonder woman but its awesome and has a lot to do with the greek pantheon of gods. Maybe for Namor's next ongoing they could take a similar way with it and use it to feature neptune.
I haven't been reading Wonder Woman, so I'm not sure what they are doing there. Some details?
But I loved what they tried to do in the Flashpoint miniseries, where Aquaman and Wonder Woman were going to make a political marriage. Of course, they tried to make that Aquaman more 'hard and edgy' so I kept joking that he was really Namor Lite. The execution wasn't as good as it could have been, but I'd loved to have seen something like that for Namor. In fact, I'm playing around with that in the Age of Marvels Fantasy League for Namor's book -- except the two rivals are Atlantis and Lemuria.
I really wish they'd do more with Namor's connections to Neptune. I enjoyed the Hercules tie-in, though they totally trashed Neptune, at least it was good reading fun. I had an idea once for a story, in a somewhat similar vein, that Neptune decided he wanted to live among the air breathers for a bit, since it's been a couple millenia, and he was feeling out of touch. So, he orders Namor to make all the arrangements and serve as his guide. Namora gets involved as Namor tries to foist of this onerous task ... errrr great honor on Namora. But basically, it would have been Namor and Namora trying to keep Neptune out of trouble in the surface world.
Well i really only started reading DC after the n52 so the only thing i understand is Wonder Woman is protecting a mortal woman pregnant with Zeus' child from Hera. So far shes met Poseidon, Hades, Hermes, Hera and in the latest issue traveled to the underworld. What Hercules-tie in is that? I havent read it and would love to. And Namor "babysitting" Neptune sounds hilarious. They better stay out of bagel shops
