But why is it in Japan they have no problem adapting an old manga in it's original style?.In there some intrinsic method in drawing manga that gives it a timeless appeal?.
manga has more of a defined story arc, less episodic in general

    Toriko 198:

Coco is a damn ninja and Zebra sure as hell powered up.

But damn. I was not expecting that twist in the plot. Looks like this whole thing is just the beginning.

Zebra is... about to hit something... with like his actual fists?

Does this mean him using his voice is just him not fighting seriously?

Freakin' Death Voice was just him messing around?

This is going to be pretty nuts.

    Campione! Episode 5:

So Mariya is not only annoying but clumsy as well. Great combination right there.

Godou's life would be a lot easier if he stooped being such stick in the mud.

    Erica continues to be awesome.

Oh man, so we are introduced to Doni, and before anyone accuses anime of being confusing, it was the same in the novel. We'll see more of him later.

And last but not least the wolf guy shows up. His life expectancy is going down as we speak tho.

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica Episode 5:

    I really love this anime.

Akatsuki is like some kind of a genius, his plans are both crazy and brilliant.

He was guard for the courtesan's guild? Well that's some side-quest right here.

The fanservice in this episode was epic even for this anime.

Myuu is so cute, and she's as transparent as her underwear. wink

    Good episode, very funny.

And it seems that next week we jump right back into action!

    Sword Art Online 5.

Filler episode detected. And it served to re-introduce the much diminished miss annoying. (I dislike Asuna.)

I'm a bit impatient because I can't wait for a certain person to show up. I really wonder how they'll handle him in the anime.
I'm a tad surprised that they haven't name-dropped him yet. Though this episode hinted at his existence.

Omamori Himari: Battle stations are being set up and apparently you can get protective charms by making out with tea spirits. Awesome!

Baby Steps: Natsu is cute when she's pissed. It'll be interesting to see how this practice goes.

And Ido!! I really thought he was wrapping it all up, but it looks like there's at least another arc if he's going to expand upon Alita's role as an agent for Methuselah and reunite her with Ido and Figure. Not to mention the brain in the box and... how many Novas are we up to now? 3?

I'm hoping this means we're properly done with the tournament stuff. I like Alita battles, but a tournament is so... cliche.

Though it doesn't protect the tea spirit from jealous rage! In fact, I think Shizuku and Himari reacted more harshly to her than they do to each other when cockblocking. If that's possible.

Speaking of which, that was one of Shizuku's boldest moves ever...in a public place no less.

Watched a couple more episodes of Campione. It's still pretty okay, but a lot of this strikes me as a kinda cliché. I often find myself thinking I've seen this exact scene done before. Not the same kind of scene, but literally the same.

So, let's see. Godou now has a clingy girlfriend he doesn't want. I wonder if she will have herself tranfered to his school? Yep, check. And now I suppose she'll make a dramatic and embarassing proclamation in front of everyone? Right, check. Aaaaand next I suppose Godou will be assaulted by all his male friends simply because he happens to have an attractive girlfriend? Yeah, check.

Look, Japan... that routine was funny in the beginning because it was an absurd and exaggerated take on ordinary envy. But it sorta loses its edge when it becomes actual routine, and you start to expect it from every single manga and anime with a romantic comedy theme. I understand comedy in your culture tends to be sorta formulaic, but this comes across as lazyness.

For the record, Erica kinda annoys me. I can see what they are going for, but something about her just rubs me the wrong way. I can already tell she probably won't be my favourite girl in this series. The miko girl is kinda cute, though. Not sure about the others yet.

In other news, I'm catching up with Accel World again. Man, this is totally my favourite anime for the moment. Pretty much everyone in it is a huge badass. oO

I guess that it's because they know where they both stand rather exactly while Liz is more of a wildcard since she's usually just cute and shy, until she pulls stuff like this.

That's probably because she knows that somebody needs to make a man out of Yuuto quickly before he gets his inexperienced ass killed by the super-demons they're about to fight.

I find it rather interesting that Shizuku is able to create a fake city good enough to have epic battles in. She's rather versetile for a water demon.

    Tower of God:

    Hwa Ryun is back!

She continues to be the most beautiful. And most awesome. I really can't wait when we learn more about her. What are her loyalties, why is she helping Viole? etc.

Is there anything that Viole can't do? He kicks ass, he can cook, he can clean, and his name strikes fear in all the wannabes.

Figures that Yihwa is the most suspicious of Viole, seeing as she comes from one of the families. Now, this will be an interesting meet.

Something about Hagure Yuusha no Estetica bugs me.

    Now, what was it...

    Oh, yeah.

Why does the series art feel so generic?

Erica is boring me, which is causing me to want to drop the series.

As for anime's most overplayed routine...

Well, since the last episode of Deadman Wonderland is airing next weekend in the States, I've started reading the manga from about that point.
