    Baby Steps 143:

We get some backstory on Ide as Mauro wins the fourth game. But there's still a long way to go and Ide's about to fight back for reals now.

    Omamori Himari 62:

Yuto fights and he does it REALLY good!

Then twists happen and the Loli-kyuubi is PISSED!

    And Himari is also PISSED!

And people start eating each other!

I finally started reading Pandora Hearts.

So far, I'm mostly enjoying what a pimp the main character is. Not really sold on it yet, though.

    Kongou Banchou 110:

And... yep... so... the scale of this manga has gone waaaaay up. Way up. Like skyhigh. This is like when the Four Beast rocked up in Toriko and we are all like O_o

As a final boss fight, this is exactly what I would expect and more. I love this manga.

    Beelzebub 187:

"Friends, friends, la la dee da..."

A nice little chapter and Oga prepares to make his return to the revived Ishiyama.

They've just introduced the whole "clock tattoo timer" thingy.

(Incidentally, in my head, Alice is totally voiced by Rie Kugimiya.)

I see, can't quite recall when that was.

...I should probably reread the beginning at some point.

I wonder how long it'll take before he blows this one up.

This manga is either really deep or has some utterly bizarre ideas about... everything.

I really should reread Medaka Box more carefully.

And so we learn that Nienami's carrier cutting feat was due to her Style.

Both. Nisio Isin can work some cool themes, but he also likes deliberately being a hipster.

    Soul Eater 105:

...Holy crap. It's a late contender but this chapter has a VERY strong candidate for best fight scene of the year. Seriously.

There's impossible acrobatics, nice team-work, a freaky opponent with beautifully creepy attacks, environmental destruction, dangerous twists and damn cool new feats for Maka and Black Star.

And now it is time for a devoted father to save the day!

It was a very nice chapter.

I don't think I need to reiterate my thoughts on the visual design of Soul Eater again, but it is beautiful.

In other news; with Kongou Banchou 114 finally coming out, we have reached the end of the series.

I really like this series. Suzuki Nakaba as excellent art as usual and great sense of communicating scale and collateral. The cast are a fun mix oddballs and badasses and the overwhelming message of never giving up and moving forward to tomorrow is moving and engaging. The fights are excellent, seriously, seriously excellent and, on the whole, I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good battle manga.

    Check it out! :D

    Cage of Eden:

And it really is Time Travel. That's got to suck. Though it doesn't explain just how we got to 'island in the middle of nowhere where we do experiments to revive long extinct animals."

I sure hope the 'three chapters till the conclusion' line refers to the end of the arc not the manga.
