    Kingdom:

    I should have expected that.

    spoilers:
The Mountain King is a girl.
    end of spoilers

    Koi to Sennyo to Chocolate:

Not much to say, other than the election is about to get serious.

    Kuroko no Baske:

    Aomine is street.

No wonder why people quit playing against him.

I mean, to be that damn agile- and have mad unpredictability?

    I'd quit before the game.

Also, I expect Kagami to dunk from half court one day.

The fight was pretty awesome, especially the way Godou used Athena's origins to cut her authority, and of course his finishing gambit was briliant.

I'm happy that he let Athena go, I like her, it would be sad if she had to return to the other world already.

Heh, it seems that next episode will be a comedic one. I wonder what they'll pull off.

    All in all awesome episode.

    Hagure Yuusha no Estetica:

"I wonder why... my chest hurts"

    Growing Pains

And it took 4 episodes for Myuu boobs to become a plot point. Good times.

Any why yes Myuu that's how all older brothers act. All of them can walk on wall too.

But it seems can do things that don't involve molesting. He's really trying to help Myuu with her trauma.

From other news we learn about organization "Cocoon" and it seems Akatsuki has some beef with their leader. Wonder what's it's about.

Also, I wonder if the guy at the end is someone significant. Probably yes since we didn't learn his identity and were left with cliffhanger.

All in all a very good episode.
I still don't know why she likes him.

    Otherwise, I agree.

    Also, BEHOLD!!!:

Yeah, it's a game, but it's a game of a manga/anime so it should be okay here.

Yeah, being told that you're so weak that it's mathematically impossible for you to win has to burn something fierce.

I like how they animated it. Just the swords going through him and him just standing there and nothing happening, with the expression on his face not even changing.

Okay I just got quesingly weirded out by Neon Genesis Evangelion [D;<] right now as I'm watching episode 21.I get how Kozo knew about the under the table stuff Gendo (Shinji's dad) was doing and how Ritsuko's (the blond scientist lady) mom,Naoka was happy that Yui (Shinji's mom) got killed in the "accident" and started hitting on Gendo soon after. Then (I'm 3/4 thru the episode now) they switch over to Rei as a little girl which makes me think at first if "Naoka+Gendo=Rei then Rei=Shinji's half-sister? D: which just makes that accidental groping way before all the more uncomfortable. Then I think "wait, that doesn't make sense since Rei's also Shinji's age...unless Gendo was having an affair with Naoko like way before".Compelled for answers in this disturbing reveal I looked up how Rei was made from the "salvaged remains" of Shinji's mom and is a clone of Yui.......°O° DX o.O ಠ_ಠ .................................................. ..........................My point being the incesstous undertones in both what I thought was going on and what the truth is,is pretty f---- up.

Oh man,I mentally vomiting right now and need some brain bleach right now .Can someone explain this situation to me please?

    What's to explain exactly?

You pretty much summed it up there. Rei is a clone of Yui, Gendo made her because of his total inability to get over the death of his wife. He has this weird... quasi-sexual paternal relationship with her. Shinji also has weird sexual feelings toward Rei but he's largely ignorant of who she really is and it doesn't really go anywhere. Heck, pretty much everything that happens in the series is motivated by Gendo not dealing with his wife being dead.

Incest is kind of a theme in NGE, as is the whole Oedipal and Elektra complexes for how children are compelled to fall in love with their opposite gender parent and want to destroy the same gender parent. It's most easily recognisable in Shinji with his confrontations with Gendo and his feelings for Rei [read: his mother] but you also get it in the greater themes of the Angels and why they attack Tokyo3 but I think I'm edging into spoilers here so I'll stop there.

In short; yeah... it's a theme. It's not going to go away.

Okay, having bought the recently released DVD boxset of Panty and Stocking with Garter and watching the first three episodes, I just have to say:

    .......WHUUUUUUUH?!

Okay, Gainax, you have produced some freaky crap over the years, but this?

Excel Saga makes more sense to me than this show. Hell, EoE doesn't even seem to be as much of an acid trip by comparison. Just why? Was this a long-awaited retaliation against the Evangelion fanbase who complained about the series' pretentious use of its religious symbolism, freudian themes, and confusing imagery? Was this your way of saying "Oh, you think Eva was a mindfuck? Look what happens when we actually try!" You know what, I blame Yeo for this. His continuous hatred for Evangelion is what brought this atrocity to common sense into existence, as well as to my attention.

And the characters. We got Panty, who makes Paris Hilton look like the Virgin Mary and a gunslinging psychotic like Revy seem like a functional member of society. Stocking is about as freaky with her masochism and abnormal love of sugar, but just barely seems sane enough to qualify as the anointed Straight man between her and her sister. And what the hell is GIR doing in this anime? You screwed my mind enough in Invader Zim, why must you come back to haunt me?! Fuck you, Gainax!

Despite this, I know I will continue to watch. Just because I am fascinated by this show's bizarre structure and unabashedness towards....everything. It's not a matter of like or dislike, It's a relentless curiosity to see what direction this series is heading.

    CBR help me.

    Yeah that was cool.

Loved the look at Kirito's health bar as this was going on, especially since during the episode we had attacks doing some serious damage to health bars, while Kirito's barely took a noticeable dent while this was happening.

To be exact, they dealt 2,7% of his health bar in ten seconds.

Which is just hilarious; even without battle healing, he could stand there for seven minutes and still have time left to kill them all.

I heard that in the original novel, the weapons actually bounced off his skin rather than pass through him.

Okay I just finished watching the whole show :).The last two episodes and episode 15 are one of those flashback episodes and since I can understand spanish I watched one version of the latino dub where there's a narrator translating the Japanese writing (which mostly are like questions being asked to the characters and comments made to them like "you killed him" in response to a part where Shinji's feeling guilty). This show has definately not been as complicated as it's hyped u to be (at least as far the actual show itself goes).

I'm sure it gets more complicated with layers if you look into the backgrounds of the inspirations though. But doing that only makes it more complex out of my own desire to make it more complex (similar to how I felt about the first FMA anime years ago),which I clearly dont have to choose to do so.It is a bit cheap how the last two episodes are mostly flashbacks and the last one actually uses like production drawings (which actually works and isn't so bad X)).I thought though that the last few episodes would be more confusing but it's not really complicated but just psychological vignettes with commentary and questions intersperesed by someone in btw.

The last episode has solipist like undertones that I kind of saw coming so how soon from Shinji the possible and while the possible reality with the apparent " and then everything went back to normal..." with a "normal" Rei III (or Rei #whatever -_- nice 2 see a happy version with a goofy voice though :)) does seem pretty contrived in the face of what went on in the past few episodes. The last few moments are so morally didactic that it was was like Shini was in the psychological equivalent of an Alcoholics anonymous circle (esp.THAT CLAPPING FOR HIM! and Pen-pen's congrats xD).I meant I like the happy ending despite it being forced but it's just so hilarious as well!.

I wonder though...would Gendo have become the icy cold weasel that he is if Yui hadn't been killed in that "accident" (which I wonder what it was and if it was set up by Ritsuko's mom) and thus didn't feel compelled to make 3rd impact happen to bring her back*?.Would that mean they would have still been able to find a way to control the EVA's without using "dummy plugs"/Rei clones?.Or no b/c his very reasons for marrying Yui were somehow related to getting into SEELE and if she had lived he would have been a simpler "crazy scientist trying to help humanity transcend past the ruins of their civilazation to something grander and deity-like" in this story '~' ?.

I'm planning to watch "The end of evangelion" .a.k.a. "How episodes 25 & 26 were meant to legitamatelly be" in some amount of hours and I'm wondering if that's honestly as trippy as they say it is.I'm guessing there the focus will be on the angels and not the distresses of the characters.I mean I get enough of the whole "agents of ancient astronauts seeding life across planets" from Prometheus which is more one-sided b/c it focuses on the aliens and not personal issues of ppl.If it does turn out to be to confusing for me I hope that the last movie in the Rebuild of Evangelion series (which are just theatrical rehashes of the whole series currently being churned out) uses the footage from "The end of evangelion" and is perhaps a bit more clear for everyone that time around.

Speaking of the characters distresses what they all go thru are real bummers.I really feel for these guys. They all basically have big issues with how receptible they are to being loved, getting close to ppl and reciprocating those things all for various reasons.I mean s--- man!,Shinji doesn't even seem to have a problem with non-heterosexual overtones of being loved by Kowaru (who wasn't even human for goodness sake!) b/c it was one of the nicest displays of affection anyone's ever had for him!.Dang!,there something going there if he's like that desperate for affection and doesn't mind going beyond his current orientation for it!

[I assure you,no offense to any non-heterosexual ppl reading this out there though really]

*This is isn't what his wife wanted for them and didn't mind having died so long as Gendo took care of Shinji and made sure he had a good life, which ironically Gendo totally did not do but made him suffer 2 bring back his wife briefly into a world so desolate b/c of Gendo's manipulations

I dont know why LittleKuriboh says bad things about in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq0LIe2ATGI. I mean now it doesn't even seem funny anymore to me but hyper-simplified,undeservably called for and mean!.

Does anyone know about the manga though and how it's different from the show?.Like is there a boatload of stuff that happened after like with post-ep.VI Star wars novels and how it's not like the movies where you feel that the war was won but instead there's more battles up ahead?.

Yeah about that part I emboldened-_-.It just a bit to predictable. You know there are certain tropes that are used b/c they seem thought-provoking like can AI develop human like minds,do clones have souls, how human can animals get to be,what is our mind really, will technology be the end of us,are corporations taking over etc that are starting to feel old hat for me and this is one of them.

Freudian motifs is one of them.In modern psychology it's the equivalent to what 1980's BASIC programming is to todays computers. It's practically obsolete, ignores a lot of the biological reasons for stuff but makes for more interesting stories then the apparently complicated let-downs of something tangible and technically like the brain's biochemistry and how with ppl with issues it's sort of jumpy.Maybe one day I'll find something interesting that uses modern psychology instead of the predictable Fruedian stuff esp.with the Oedipius and Elektra complexes which makes things so pretentiously weirded out.

Yes, but in the original side-story* Kirito was also being moved (Well, being shaken) by the attacks. Though they didn't hurt him more than they did in the anime.

I personally think that the way it was shown in the anime looked cooler, since it shows that he was out-regenerating them, as opposed to just being too durable.

*: This episode, as well as the second one, are actually based on the second novel which was a collection of short stories written to fill in some of the blanks left by a timeskip of the first two years.

Incidentally, the time between "Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "The Black Swordsman" (episode 2 and 3) is two months. Meaning that Kirito went from level 69 to level 78 in that time.
Taking into account the special circumstances of SAO that makes levelling up harder and the fact that Kirito takes the time to do random stuff in lower level areas, the only conclusion is that the guy is insane.
