Remind me, did the original To Love Ru do that as well?
*shrug* I don't even care about that. I say let nudity be gratuitious and controversial - that's what makes it enticing in the first place.
I just don't like wishy-washiness. If you're going to show a woman's boobs, then draw her some damn nipples. Otherwise, let her keep her shirt on.
I don't mind it so much when, say, Akamatsu does it, because he has elevated conveniently obscured nipples and genitals into a bloody artform and only rarely does the Barbie doll thing. But habitually just drawing girls who are supposed to be naked while not actually being naked is just lazy and annoying.

Actually, come to think of it, all the nudity today seems to be in the ecchi manga. You pretty much never see more standard shonen with the kind of casual nudity you'd find in early Dragonball or Ranma½, the type that was mostly treated as a momentery joke.

Well, I don't necessarily want nudity to be enticing in and of itself, is the thing.
I'm kind of a fan of non-sexualized nudity. Just like I'm a fan of sexualized full-body clothing.
I agree with you there.I just don't like wishy-washiness. If you're going to show a woman's boobs, then draw her some damn nipples. Otherwise, let her keep her shirt on.
I love it.
No it's not based on anything real...well this one guy was real....and this guy was real...and this assassination was real.....but it's all fiction at the end of the day.
When I wrote that I thought in my head "as based on a true story as any based on a true story movie really is."
Which as you pointed out is pretty much right.
Anyways it was a nifty clarification.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll check out Kenshin and BOTI now!
I think I've been spoilt having read Vagabond as my first ever Manga comic, it's just so freaking good!!
Just going from what I've seen, I really wouldn't call this a "samurai manga." It seems more like an action thriller manga where this one guy keeps using a sword.
Yeah, pretty much. Vagabond is ridiculously ambitious, and not really a standard you should try to hold other manga up to.
...The only suggestion I can think of is Sidooh, which I read like the first volume of or something. It seemed okay, though I don't really like these serious seinen kind of stories. I'm more of a Kenshin/Gamaran type of guy.
Vagabond being an obvious exception, of course.

Heh heh. That feels better.
I feel like one of those that mistakenly thought Zenkichi's mom was a child.
I hope she and Zenkichi end up together. Shiranui seems to care about Zenkichi a lot after all. I think she's better for Zenkichi than Medaka. It's a shame Zenkichi doesn't realize Shiranui's feelings.
As to whether 'Love doesn't necessarily have to win'. In this case, I guess it will be 'which love will win'. Zenkichi's love for Medaka or Shiranui's love for Zenkichi. But it seems Shiranui loves Zenkichi so much she's even willing tp help him get another girl. That's seems really selfless of her.
As for the recent chapter of Kumugawa, I'm wondering if that's why Anshin states that Kumugawa is incomplete. Maybe if and when he finds that special skill that can defeat her, he will be.

Sometimes you lose things which you don't expect losing. It doesn't make the hurt any less.
While I do agree that Shiranui probably loves Zenkichi I don't think that she's helping him reach Medaka because she loves him so much.
I think that she's doing it because she believes that it's the preferable option to him reciprocating her feelings since she'd just end up devouring him with her Real Eater minus.
Or maybe it's because he just haven't won anything yet, by his standards. The day he actually achieves something he considers a true victory he might just become complete.

Thanks! I've just read a bit about Sidooh and it looks awesome! Could definitely be my next purchase...
