I am so damned glad that, thanks to relative poverty on my part, Robert "Rob Liefeld is the modern-day equivalent of Jack Kirby" Kirkman no longer gets 1 red cent of my money. It has no effect on him & his piles of cash, but at least I have a better chance of sleeping at night. (Apparently, he's some sort of idiot savant who does a couple of things well [Invincible, Walking Dead] but otherwise is a hopeless case.)By early fall, Kirkman was spending a lot of time in L.A. and we were meeting as often as possible between all his commitments. He sat me down during lunch one afternoon and said in no uncertain terms, "I want the 'X-Force,' 'Youngbloood' Rob. I want gear, shoulder pads, knee pads, pouches and big ass guns." I just smiled. I'm like, yeah, that's where I live and breathe. He said, "stop running from all this stuff that you do so well...you've got to bring it on this!"
Next, I suppose we can look forward to his bankrolling a revival of Pauly Shore's movie career.

I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."
Basically, if you miss the wonder of a dog flying around in a little Superman cape, you're in the wrong hobby.

ya know, overall i gotta give some credit to that image ~ the biceps are still a bit large, (and no feet, lol) but in general the anatomy is looking decent and not as overly exaggerated and a bit toned down from Liefeld's general 'over-the-topness'.
I gave him a lot of grief on the boards when he did those Marvel projects a few years back where it looked like he hadn't improved his style a whit from the Youngblood days, but (in as far as one can judge from a single preview image) that actually shows some marked improvements too me.
============ Just say "NO!" to $4 books. ============
I'll be picking it up. I'd rather Rob was working on putting a monthly Youngblood out but nevermind.

If you've ever thought about trying Savage Dragon but the high issue numbers intimidate you, why not visit the SD Wiki? You'll catch up in no time.

Looks/sounds pretty entertaining.
Read The Call, African fantasy at its best http://coalminds.com/webcomics/thecall_adaptive04.html
Oh please, I dont even think Kirkman believes that. He's only saying it because him and Liefield are co-partners at Image. Its all hype, that's all.
Oh my wordy I can't stop laughing that guy looking into the camera manages to shoot that other guy in the head and cock at the same time, this is as good as the Torch on Thing action he did, seriously it's taken me five minutes to stop laughing at that OH man.

As for the anatomy what is wrong with that guys arms??? and how is he holding the guns? That's Liefield all right, it's like watching a cat pass a gall stone.
You know, I understand it's cool to hate on Liefeld, and I know his art won't hold up to serious artistic scrutiny, but this really doesn't look that bad. There are many artists with styles far more boring that Rob's. Shoulderpads, weird straps everywhere, kneepads, etc. are kind of his "thing."
Sure, it's adolescent, but most superhero comics are.
(For the record I have never purchased nor read anything Rob Liefeld has drawn...)
See, this shows exactly why Liefeld keeps giving evidence to disprove the "Liefeld ain't so bad" people. Look at the first sample page (the one with guys getting their faces shot off). Aside from never drawing any feet on this entire page, look carefully at the bottom left panel. The guy holding the big gun - his back hand has no connection to the gun - it just seems to be sitting adjacent to the gun and somehow holding the gun. Now look at the last sample page (the one with the baseball bats). In the top left panel, there is no real connection between the guy's hand and the baseball bat - the bat just kind of ends where his hand begins. And in the big panel in the middle of the page, Rob just stopped drawing the bat - there is no bottom to the baseball bat.
This is why people continue to rip on Liefeld - he does this kind of sloppy, unfinished drawing, and turns it in so that it makes it to the published page. He has been doing this for 20 years and never tries to improve himself. He is paid to draw comics as a professional, and he does not care about doing it well. With every new page that he puts out, you will find the same old sloppy errors in his work
Oh Kirkman, Kirkman, Kirkman.... I am sooooo utterly disappointed....
I don't know what I should be more surprised by, the fact that you guys did a follow up interview on this hack or that some people actually seem to find this interesting. Either way my mind is blown.
