I'd say a woman who tries to protect her baby is plenty different from one who tries to kill him, but if you want more ...

Madelyne survives, having thwarted the Goblin Queen's attempt to kill her baby. Scott, overcome with guilt, leaves X-Factor and returns to Alaska with his wife. But neither of them is happy: Scott's conscience won't let him leave his wife again, but she knows that whenever he looks at her he's yearning for Jean. To make matters worse, Maddie's having recurrent visions of the Goblin Queen, urging her to kill Scott or Jean or both. Since Scott won't leave her, she decides it would be best for everyone if she left him. She can't bear to be separated from her son again, so she takes him with her and flies away to start a new life. Passing through a cloud cover, she emerges on the other side to find a strange, eerie landscape spread out below her.

Ugh - the Brett Blevins art - the dippy, rote characterizations - I found it that era of New Mutants the lowest point for my once most-favorite series.

So I've gotten the kill for this round and will update with the kill later today.

For now here's a nice video for those that aren't too familiar with the setting of the TG.

I only just now had a chance to get to the actual game thread and set up a prologue. Sorry I'm so behind.....

It's no worries, there's a few others that haven't posted yet either.

I find it humours that Morph and his underboobs killed the discussion thread.

Hey all, just back from Hawaii a few hours ago. Hadn't even planned on posting anything tonight because I'm still a bit lagged out (and not looking forward to being back in the old rut, either). Didn't see the Joe-sorta-retirement speech until just now, but having read it, I just felt like I needed to say-

Joe, I am touched by the compliments. I think I've told you before, but I am truly grateful for the invite or two that you sent along, and that I finally decided to check out what these wacky Traitor Games were all about, and that I decided to get involved (and to Purp, thank you for the especially intriguing TG XII: It's Good to Be Bad! concept that helped to wrangle me in). The TGs have meant a lot to me these last several(?!?!) years now, and while it was the wonderful creative people and fun lovin' gang that kept me around, it was Joe that ultimately drew me in. Thank you for all your efforts on behalf of the game, your intriguing plots and roleplay, and though I know this isn't goodbye, and that we'll continue to see you around these parts even if you aren't active (or as active), I wish you all the best in your real-life endeavors. I think we all understand that sometimes you have to make certain things a lesser priority when you find other goals that are meaningful to you. Best of luck, Joe!

Something I've been wondering about and away to bump up the discussion thread...

Will there be a Award Show this year?

I've been wondering about it, too. But I've been holding off on mentioning it.

Oh, by the way, I'll probably mention this when we get to the 'epilogue and extras' portion in the game thread, but Ace Attorney fans might notice that in the prologue, I sort of skipped over the 'normal Testimony' bit, and went straight to the Cross-Examination. I thought this was an acceptable liberty to take in order to make the prologue move along faster. And all in all, I think it worked out pretty well.

Purp and I have discussed hosting it after Game 40, unless there's ideas to the contrary.

You should just let me host it. The attendance record would be through the roof!

    We did?!

But seriously, I'd actually be fine not hosting this year's show since I did it last year, and just focus on doing skits with my characters.

Yeah, the comedy skits are part of what it's about. Oh, and chances for acquaintances from the games to meet each other again, and meet people from other games. And general crossover weirdness.

Well, I'm liking the role-playing some of the relative newcomers are bringing to the game. Of course, The Purple Skull certainly does not disappoint with Dan Hibiki and Volstagg, and the rest of the regulars have had a number of fun moments.

I am a bit disappointed that we're not seeing more of Sersi and Donald, though.

And Redem ... bright yellow text on a white background is very hard on the eyes. I hate to say it, but it's the truth. Back in Traitor Game 22, I was playing a duo of a brunette and a blonde. I had the brunette speak in brown text, but the blonde spoke in orange text because I knew yellow would be just too painful to read.

As for me, I've been having fun so far, though I wish I had more Betty pics. While I have plenty of Lotta sprites to match just about every possible mood, I'm lacking pics for Betty. I checked comicvine and such, and found no other pics that I liked. The one pic I've been using is a pic of her taken from 'Hobgoblin lives' with the background taken out. It's from where she meets with the Hobgoblin and finds that he's willing to tell her just how Ned Leeds was set up.

If I had a scanner, I'd probably scan in and modify more Betty images from Hobgoblin Lives, but I don't.

I've also had fun with Franziska, again. Though I couldn't resist bringing in Portsman as a substitute Inquisitor for one round. Portsman was kind of an experiment for me - to see if I can play a character similiar to certain characters certain other Traitor Gamers have played in the past. Though my portrayal was also influenced by another's portrayal of Portsman elsewhere.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to bringing in Franziska in the next round.
