Still debating whether or not to play the next one, but will *definitely* join in the Exiles game...
*if* I play the Marvel/Capcom one, the best pair I could come up with was--
VS.

So the Exiles TG is to be a "Create Your Own Exile" game, with characters who have never before appeared in an Exiles story; have I got that right? Do we have to use deaths that have actually occurred, either in canon or in a published alternative-world story, or can we do a "What If ______ Got Killed?" Is playing two characters mandatory?
That's how I feel, which is why I'll probably take a pass on Marvel vs Capcom. Virtually all I know about Capcom is what I've read here or on Wikipedia, and I haven't found a character I care about.
I'm with Chris here. It's one thing if we're talking about the risks of changing the past; but if we're discussing how our present-day actions may affect the future, who's to say what's "supposed" to happen?

Yeah, you pick a character and give them your own Exiles-esque twist. You don't have to necessarily elaborate their near death experience as me and Deadpooligan can just simply say your character was "Unhinged" from their reality. The only minor restriction is that you do not use a character who was once a member of the Exiles or Weapon X. And yes on the two characters, as your second character will be used for another part of the game. But yeah, go crazy with your character reimagining. This is an Exiles theme so there are no limits to what story you wanna give your character.
It's actually Capcom. Comcast is a second-rate cable company (yeah, I went there!)

I'd continue the gag and say DOES TOO!! but, honestly? Everyone wishes it didn't count.
To piggyback Purp, it doesn't necessarily have to be a death that makes them unhinged. Captain U.K., while not an Exile, managed to become unhinged from reality when her entire universe was destroyed because of a cyborg monster called The Fury. Thinking "What If" is a perfect idea for coming up with an Exiled character, I've got to say. Two characters are absolutely mandatory, and to avoid a potential clusterfuck of characters, the second character functions as a replacement when the first is eliminated from the game.
Oh, that's another thing I feel I shouldn't really have to mention, but will. No duos, no additional NPCs. Just two characters, period, no exceptions.
Just remember Anodyne, you can always run a character pitch by me and Purp if you're unsure. We're not in the business of shooting down good ideas anyway. Schornforce already dropped us a line, and there was no fuss about it! I've spoken to Jeremi and Indigo Al about their characters too.
I'm not going to argue the philosophical merits of making choices in real life or in character, but we're talking about a multiverse where cosmic deities are fact, not faith, corporeal representations of fundamental forces number the dozens, and the totality of reality can have a conversation with you. Fixed destinies and timelines are a definite thing here. Even in the context of the Traitor Games, free will still can't save you from being a part of it, and that's the same with being an Exile. They're taken out of whatever they're doing and forced to participate.I'm with Chris here. It's one thing if we're talking about the risks of changing the past; but if we're discussing how our present-day actions may affect the future, who's to say what's "supposed" to happen?
As far as what's "supposed to happen", the Exiles themselves are only given instructions on how to solve a problem that puts a specific alternate Earth back on track. There's often a lot of leeway that goes with completing that task, and just as well, the full ramifications and destinies of these Earths are unknown to them. They get the task at hand and go with it... the rest is, presumably, Eternity's job to make right.
If you're only wary about your actions having no effect on the outcome (like you may have been with the Kulan Gath final battle before Joe's reassurance), don't be! Purp and I do not have some mandated vision in mind for each reality we visit, because you can absolutely fail to save Earths. To paraphrase Sabretooth, "What we do ain't easy, it ain't fun, and it sure ain't pretty, but I'm not about to apologize for savin' worlds!"
I've also figured out who i'm going to be for the exiles game, which I'm very excited for.

As mentioned though you can also play someone from a licensed game. A number of Disney properties have gotten games made by Capcom such as the Rescue Rangers, Ducktales and Darkwing Duck to name just a few.
Even Atlantean Gambit?
One of my hundred?I've spoken to Jeremi and Indigo Al about their characters too.
I wouldn't seeing either of these duos in the game proper.
