I recall flipping thru part 1 and not being horribly impressed (some guys kidnapped his dad? didn't do anything for me at the time) but from what I read here it sounds like things got more interesting.
Suddenly I'm more curious about picking this one up......thanks CBR!![]()
I'll be getting this.
I quite enjoyed the "Co-Feature" story and was sad when I learned it was cancelled.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.
I'd like to see more of Ray. Hopefully sales of the special won't be the determining factor, since most high priced comics sell quite poorly. Duncan Rouleau stated back when he was doing the Metal Men mini that the Atom would be a project he'd be interested in, which is fine with me. Time will tell, but unfortunately I won't hold my breath.
i'm pretty sure jeff lemire will become a great mainstream writer and i'm very curious about his futures takes on the DCU characters. He'll be perfect for DOOM PATROL I think. And I hope to see more of THE ATOM anytime soon.

really looking forward to this issue. the back up story in adventure was my favorite of any of the recent back ups. and with gary frank on the cover, it makes me very happy.![]()
SPACE FOR RENT!
Wait a minute, Marvel made Hank Pym the "Scientist Supreme" for the Marvel Universe a couple of years ago - saying Richards was the smartest guy, but was more of an explorer and inventor, while Pym is more of the scientist, figuring out how things operate and looking for scientific explanations. That's why he is great at making robots, as well as researching pym particles, etc.
He is also a teacher now for the Avengers Academy.
Who does this sound like? Shrinks, "go to guy for science stuff," around since the 60s, no longer married ......
I don't know -Atom and Hank Pym seem to be more and more growing into parallel characters --
Makes me think of Namor and Aquaman (both born to human/Atlantean hybrids, both royalty, both strong, blah, blah, blah).
Hopefully this final act of necromancy will shut the book on the absolute travesty of a character that is Ray Palmer, and pave the way for all new stories about the objectively superior Ryan Choi.
"but the 616 is set in America."

Additionally, Ray Palmer, in terms of temperament and personality and 'type' of genius, is the Reed Richards of the DCU -- the explorer, the guy who is always trying to UNDERSTAND everything.
Hank Pym's DCU counterpart is Will Magnus -- tortured, creative genius, for whom creation is a near psychopathic drive. They've both even had mental health problems, and both of them are well known for creating artificial intelligences.
Tony Stark's DCU counterpart is Steel, a genius who is more considered with the societal implications of his genius than the raw scientific aspects of it. Like most things in the DCU, he's a little more altruistic, a little more perfect, than his Marvel counterpart.

I really like Sweet Tooth.
But he can't make me care about Ray Palmer. Even though I care about a really slow half-animal monster thing. I don't care about Ray Palmer.
Don't worry.
My brother and sister of the atom.
We are the X-men, and we stand together
Pretty lame to me because its not Ryan Choi. Ill be skipping this one.
