    Default Any Super-Art experts here?

Someone is trying to identify a 1941 Superman drawing. Is it by one of the "official" Superman artists of the era?

Well, I'm no expert but the proportions of the head are a lot farther off-model from the Shuster version than was common in '41. Doesn't mean it *wasn't* drawn by one of the Shuster ghosts, though.

    You might look here:

"This page is dedicated to providing examples of the work of the various artists who drew Superman in the days before DC began adding credits to stories. It is my intention to include examples of the work of everyone who worked on the Superman strip before the year 1970."

Looks like JK's mystery artist might be Ira Yarbrough. He's the only artist cited on Rob's link whose Superman bears any resemblance to the sketch.

Maybe it's just me, but at first glance my immediate reaction was WAYNE BORING! The drawing of the head is so reminiscent of the cover for SUPERMAN: FROM THE 30s TO THE 70s. However, it doesn't exclude the possibility that the artist favored the Boring version of Supes...
