Looks like JK's mystery artist might be Ira Yarbrough. He's the only artist cited on Rob's link whose Superman bears any resemblance to the sketch.

Maybe it's just me, but at first glance my immediate reaction was WAYNE BORING! The drawing of the head is so reminiscent of the cover for SUPERMAN: FROM THE 30s TO THE 70s. However, it doesn't exclude the possibility that the artist favored the Boring version of Supes...
