Dwayne McDuffie has died

According to CBR's main page, comics/animation writer Dwayne McDuffie has died. No details yet, but it seems to be something extremely sudden. Condolences to his family.

Looks like Newsrama is saying there's multiple indepedent sources that has confirmed his death. That's a bit better I suppose, but still not a lot of confirmation.

This is the worst news ever. I had a lot respect for Dwayne. He gave me a lot of advice for breaking into comics, even told me when I got published to show him my comic. He created an incredible amount of characters, and stood up for what he believed in despite what flak he took for it. He was a man that earned my respect ten times over.

He will be missed.

Dear God, WHAT?!?! This is horrible news, and so sudden. And so frightening, considering ALL-STAR SUPERMAN just hit stores.

I remember seeing that he'd visited/clicked on my user CP here some months ago and was giddy that "someone cool like Dwayne McDuffie" had bothered to click on my user profile.

What a terrible passing this is to read about. RIP Dwayne, and my humblest sympathies and prayers with his family & friends.

Read the Twitter feed on the CBR mainpage. All of the people in the industry who knew McDuffie are speaking out about it. They wouldn't if it was a hoax.
