Interesting. Between this, Hellraiser, Planet of the Apes and Elric, I'm gonna be checking out a lot of Boom books.
King Conan - Usagi Yojimbo - Mouse Guard - Courtney Crumrin - X-O Manowar - Archer & Armstrong - Back Issue!
Do they mean new stuff or reprints? I thought fantagraphics was still doing the reprints. And there is no way new stuff should be done.
It would be nice if they got artists with different syles to re-interpret the characters, but getting somebody to draw it in Schultz's style would be a travesty. However, since they've been sold out to Met-Life for years now, I don't know how else Peanuts could be ruined.

Maybe it's these books finally seeing the light of day, the only legitimately authorized non-Schulz Peanuts work:

I don't mean to be mean, but does anyone feel kind of dirty reading something like this....I mean this is a leagcy comic strip that very few can uphold.
I worry now what they're going to do to the characters ?
Also is KABOOM really the retitled Boom Kids title line ?![]()
Fascinating.
I want more info before I make up my mind about it all though.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.
This may not be any different than other series featuring homage stories about The Spirit or The Rocketeer. Besides, Schultz lived to see his characters being bastardized as shils for Met-Life, what more harm could a posthumous new series do?

I always thought he had complete control. So that when he passed on, it ended with him. This is gonna suck, crossovers and crap.
There should be no new Peanuts material by other authors, ever.
This better only be reprints.
Schulz specifically wanted the strip to end with his passing and for his characters not end up in the hands of some lame hand-me-down creator, as was the case with Blondie, Dick Tracy, Nancy and others that have slid into stale irrelevancy.
If this is anything other than reprints I will be very pissed.
First of all, that Kaboom logo? Worst logo ever.
Second, are there really kids who are clamoring for new Peanuts material? My daughter knows Snoopy, but that's about it. And doing new material, which was against the wishes of Charles Schulz, who is admittedly a legend...just seems plain wrong.
I guess United Features Syndicate and Boom don't care, they're going to try and make a dollar by ****ing a dead man's bones...
Isnt fantagraphics still doing reprints?
Yeah, Fantagraphics still holds the reprint license, so this Boom deal must be new material.
