I'm a lot more excited about this than I feel like I should be. Gillen seems to really have an engaging, interesting take on Batroc.

Yeah, I had zero interest in this simply because of Batroc but, the art, Gillen (who I loved on Thor), and the fact he had an interesting take on him is selling me on it. Plus it's a One-Shot - what do I have to lose?

    Thumbs up

Batroc is a character I enjoy and I've never been able to put my finger on why. I just like him. The art in the previews is gorgeous and I've enjoyed Mr. Gillen's work on other books. Consider me sold.

Maybe this one-shot will help me better articulate my fondness for the Leaper. I wonder if any of his "Brigade" will make appearances?

That interview sold me on this. Cap and the first thirteen is the only other one that looks promising.
Obviously Gillen has made some research and is going to use traceurs and Alain Robert as models for his characterization.

It's about Batroc, so of course I'm looking forward to it.

Great interview. The art doesn't do anything for me, but the background on the story makes me want to read it right now. I almost passed on this.

I absolutely love Batroc so I am super excited about this. Gillen has been turning out some high quality comics too, so this is immediately going on my "to buy" list.

This sounds pretty good, actually. I'm going to have to check this out!

(Not sure I like the full beard on Bats, though.)

There's a shaving kit in the last panel of the last preview page. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he isn't keeping the full beard.

Looks like it could be fun, certainly worth checking out.

Also, from the artwork, it is interesting to note that in the preview, Batroc appears to have been drawn to resemble Eric Cantona, the French footballer who once famously use a kung-fu style kick on a heckler at a football match!

U-Go Girl lives & Squirrel Girl is the nuts!
