I suppose, being a goddess, and given some of the recent dialogue, she might be disguised as an Amazon; but again I'm just not feeling any lead in. It's not much of a twist when you don't really know much about, or care about, a character. Even if it furthers the plot. Using Diana's friend/the mother wouldn't make sense. Perhaps the story is still waiting to set it up.

Or she could be disguised as many people.

For example, if she had been disguised as the nameless Amazon who sacrificed herself. That would be clever
Irene Adler: “I would have you right here on this desk until you begged for mercy twice.”
Sherlock: “I’ve never begged for mercy in my life.”
    Irene: “Twice.”

Nameless? O_o The thought did occour to me, but I shut it down with vehemence: we shall not entertain that idea. It makes me extremely discontent.

I got my issue in the mail early this time around. I really enjoyed this issue. In terms of completeness as it relates to story movement and a variety of things happening in this issue, it's hard for me to say if I liked this issue or 605 better. I think what touched me most about this issue was the way Harry's mother was killed by Cheetah in the end (am I correct about that? I believe she was Harry's mother). I wanted to see them reunited, but I can empathize with Harry's mother, which is why I was so touched to see her killed off. Harry's mother was the most genuine character I've seen in a while. I'm almost feeling a little chilled by what may happen when this Cheetah meets Diana.

I liked the scene with the Minotaur. I liked the phrase that Paradise Island was for outcast rather than anything else. I've just been disappointed that Dr. Psycho has not been established as a key character in the Wonder Woman comics and might not be until a long wait at the end of March. But, just keep it moving like this issue and 605, although 606 was good, also. I really liked the story development that the Minotaur revealed, but barely anybody expressed any remorse for his suicide. I'm anxiously awaiting Dr. Psycho and I hope at lease the end of next issue will start to add Dr. Psycho.

Two good issues in a row now for Hester (606 -7). The battle with the skeltons was mercfully brief. Good character developement with Diane showing mercy to the Minatour, harking back to her mother's words in 604, and comforting the boy. Hester's doing a pretty fair job trying to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

The bad: Kramer's art. I was hoping after having a month off and drawing a fairly good Diane for the 606 cover, that Kramer's drawing of Diane would imporve. I was wrong.
He starts 607 putting that ugly scowl on Diane's face during the battle with skeltons. Why he continues to this I have no idea. No one has done this to Diane in her 70 years before. It doesn't do any good to make your character look unattractive.
It gets a little better after that, there's a close-up of Diane, on the last panel of page 3 that looks good. But, fter page 4 the art on the whole book goes downhill. Kramer's Diane just isn't beautiful or pretty enougn. He's given her skinny arms (no muscle definition) and legs through this run. Often the backgorund buildings look better the foreground characters.

The cover: Did any else's copy have Diane's and Amazon's faces covered in black specs?
It lools like the blues and blacks of the background bleed into their faces.

Only 5 issues left I wonder if there'll be good ending to this run. I hope Hester can prevent JMS's plot from ending in an anti-climax or some sort of contrivance.

I don't know what is up with Kramer's art. It hasn't been good since #600. I wish he was drawing more like he did on JSA Vs. Kobra. That was some good art. As it is now, I'd rather they change artists. He hasn't been able to keep up with the schedule anyway.

Who the hell is "Diane"? You don't know Mary Wilson do you?

Kramer's Diana isn't unattractive, she just looks angry. Attractive people get angry all the time, it's no biggie.

I just assume the mention of the fire at the beginning is to remind us that a god of fire has something to do with this. Wasn't that established earlier, with the flames? Who knows, maybe Hestia's gone nuts and is burning the house down.

This issue was okay, but it does seem like treading water until the big reveal. I'm looking forward to this story being over so the "new reality" can be established. I'm pretty tired of Diana constantly being in a state of being "set-up."

Diana's burning desire for justice still doesn't seem right or iconic for the character. Her concern for the boy just seems so cliche. I just wish the mother and child had been switched out for Etta, or someone else from Diana's past.

Speaking of which, I hope we see a male from Diana's past, preferably Steve. Why no guys who aren't villains? In fact, it would be nice if Diana couldn't help breaking away from the compound to meet up with Steve; it would play up that whole "forbidden love" element established in her origin. I think I would rather have seen that than the pawnshop scene from a few issues back.

Oh well. At least the next few issues will come out at three week intervals. It'll help to get this storyline wrapped up quicker.

Actually, the Amazons are going to stay with Breezy Brisbane, the kid from The Little Rascals. "I don't wanna be President! I wanna be a streetcar conductor!" He runs a safehouse out in the barn.

Was a little surprised we haven't had more comments about the lasso getting back its 'command' powers.

The 'Cheetah' and 'Giganta' characters underwhelm me. They come across more as similarly named characters than the actual villains.

The issue was, in my opinion, okay, but one could definitely sense Hester was working from a script. There were specific things he was assigned to do here, so he had to do them. You could see him ticking them off the list, "Did that, did that, gotta do that, that's next..."

The significance of the altered timeline becomes increasingly obvious - Perez concept of the lasso being created specifically for Diana seems to be a thing of the past, sadly.

i enjoyed the dialogue. (since Simon left?)

but thats about it. i didnt like the art, or the overall development of the story.

wish the writer was actually writing wonder woman. instead of Elseworld Wonder-Canary.

What of the Hunting, Hunter Bold? Brother, the Watch was Long and Cold..

What of the Quarry ye went to Kill? Brother, He Crops in the Jungle Still..

Well this has got to be some kind of record. Six days after the issue is on the shelves and less than five full pages of discussion/comment/debate/fist-punching/gnashing of teeth?

    That's not even a than a page a day!

This would never happen if Tom were still in the book.
