You know I am probably going to get slammed here, but I kinda like the return of Doomsday. Hopefully it turns out to be a good story.
I liked the Steel one shot, it was a good read. I just wish these were coming out less spaced out. It should have been a fifth week event with each chapter released every week with a big ol' 80 page giant to conclude it all.
Pull List: Dynamite Comics (15 titles), Haunted Horror, Popeye Classics, Suicide Squad
didnt he already move over that Ļi want to dieĻ phase on GLC and blackest nightCyborg Superman is a character who aside from being Doomsday's target has grown on his own into being a bigger DC Universe villain rather than just a Superman villain or a Green Lantern villain. How is James playing with that aspect of the character now that he's the victim of this piece?
The thing about the Cyborg Superman is that he wants to die. Ultimately, he's in the position where he's suffering the loss of his wife and the loss of everyone he ever knew. He wants to just be at peace, and he doesn't care who goes along with him. Now he's facing down the guy who killed Superman, so it's his opportunity. The question is, what can he do to make this guy mad enough to kill him? The Justice League happens to be in the middle of it all, and James is playing with an interesting idea which is that it's not always the best thing to get what you want.
Exactly
They don't exactly scream "members of the Justice League!"
Exactly.

I'm eating it up like candy, but the span between Steel and Outsiders is massive. I don't know why they didn't just hold off on the Steel issue until later on. Looks like Doomsday'll be a bit less two dimensional now...
Did Wonder Woman and Superman just catch an aircraft carrier?
They tried that before. Didn't take. I'm not convinced it'll take this time either. The character's just is not compelling. He's an unstoppable engine of destruction. You give him intelligence, then how is he any different from the Darkseids and Monguls of the DC universe? The greatest thing about him was that he "killed" Superman. He never should've been brought back past that. Since then he had one good showing when his evolutionary abilities went into overdrive. Other than that he's been a joke.
Actually it wasn't that it didn't take, rather both stories were temporary. In "The Doomsday Wars", Doomsday was being controlled by Brainiac and thus he was intelligent until he was expelled from Doomsday's body. The second time was in the concluding chapters of "In The Name Of Gog", when we see a Doomsday who had evolved into an intelligent being and thus capable of being so much more than he was. But it was undone when Gog was finally beaten and time folded back on itself. Otherwise Doomsday's intelligence levels have remained consistent. This is the first time that it seems that he has become smarter, but then again, he could be under someone else's control.
