After revealing new info about the pricing and story of their incoming "Flashpoint" event as well "Green Lantern" film tie-ins and a new Batman OGN, DC Comics has announced a follow up program to their well known plastic ring giveaway.

I'm actually looking forward to Flashpoint as a story, it's kinda sad that gimicks like this actually increase sales, at least you don't have to spend any extra money, it should entertain me few at least a few seconds.

Now, I post a typical post exclaiming in ironic anguish how upon hearing this news I must take out a new loan in order to garner enough funds to buy all the Flashpoint books. Pity me; please.

In which some other "do-gooder" will respond and try to convince me otherwise by using an argument, although valid, is completely centered on subjective degrees of worth; which in the end never convert anyone. I care; really.

I already have a give away Flash ring and a give away GL ring. They're total rip offs. Don't work at all...

I'm 44 and I still love this crap. I didn't get all the rings and giveaways, but I did get one or two and love 'em. They're right next to me on the desk here...A GL ring, as well as Flash ring, Phantom Rings, Legion of Super-Heroes badge and Judge Dredd badge.

Degrees of worth? Just follow the characters that you love and leave the rest behind. Besides, they minis and possible one-shots will wind up being collected and you can get them as they roll out.
