I've been a Tracy-Fanatic since the 1960's & have mourned the loss of the character's focus in recent years. Locher did a great job; but after Collins left there was always something missing. I have high hopes for Curtis & Staton to restore the lustre of Dick Tracy. I like much of what he said in the interview & I hope that he will follow his own 'style' of drawing the strip & not ape Gould's or Locher's repective 'style.' Joe Staton is a tremendous artist & I really loved his E-Man from back in the day (sort of a modern-day Jack Cole/ Plastic Man with the humor & fun).
I'm a bit envious because I've harbored a little daydream for years to draw & re-boot Tracy; matter of fact I've being working on character designs for years...ahh, the dreams of fancy. So congrats to Staton & Curtis; I am really anticipating what they have in store for Dick Tracy.

What?? No love for Joe Staton or Dick Tracy or even Ayn Rand? Boy, not even Archie can garner a response.
Anyway, best of luck on Dick Tracy Mr. Staton. I am really looking forward to seeing it.

Love for Ayn Rand? The woman was a monster. So..no.
Could I have done without any Ayn Rand adaptations? Sure. Am I thrilled to have any new Joe Staton comics possible? Oh, Hell yes!
Staton always struck me as a smart guy who really applies himself wholly to his work, so I can look forward to something for his contribution alone, and if there's other good points, all the better.
Can there be any better adaptation of Rand's work than Bioshock?
No--not really a monster; but an influential figure of the 20th century? Perhaps. Do I agree with her? Rarely--but I do believe more in the rights of the individual over so-called 'Social Justice.' I do prefer less governement than to the intrusion of government into nearly every aspect of our lives that we see in governments all around the world including here in America. But do I really even like Ayn Rand? No--but a monster in a world of Hitlers, Saddams, Mansons, Bundys & A-jads--she's not really even close.
Anyway, my real attraction to the article is Staton's work on Dick Tracy & so far no one has really commented on that. I am really looking forward to March because of his & Collins tenure on the comic strip beginning.

I always have liked Staton's artwork, but haven't followed anything Tracy in almost a decade now. Is this going to be a reboot of sorts, or will it pick up from wherever it left?
