I always liked Hal Jordan but I would like them to show respect to Allen Scott the original Green Lantern.

you could start respecting Alan by getting his name right...

i doubt i will be picking up these issues, but who knows. one thought i do have is that something in this direction would have been perfect for free comic book day instead of a reprint of a two year old book.

I can't help but wonder why DC is flooding the market with more single issues to promote the movie instead of just selling the hundreds upon hundreds of trades and issues they already have of the character. Does this mean the movie has altered the character so much that we need a separate series of books? I hoped that with Johns on board the movie would match up decently with the current Green Lantern origins Johns himself streamlined not that long ago. This is seeming to be less and less the case the more I hear.

They're pimping Ryan R. to sell more books.

Because maybe some movie viewers interested in a GL comic don't wanna dive right into almost-impenetrable comic continuity right off the bat?

This gets 'em into a comic book store, buying GL comics, and then hopefully that gets them to check out more comics with Hal, Sinestro and others....

Reprinting existing comics and republishing old trades benefits one group: the (hardcore) comic fans. It's a nice thing to do, sure, but it's not really the best tactic to intice new readers and ween them onto the mainstream GL comics......

hopefully any non-comic reader buying these will pick up one of the 3 existing titles too. never hurts to support DC.

Johns' Secret Origins was written after or at least at the same time as the script was written, neither Johns nor his version of Jordan’s origin would have affected the script much at the time. Which from what I read was more than anything based on Emerald Dawn.

After Johns came on board as CCO or whatever his new title was, we are told a few changes like the Emerald Dawn villain Legion was changed to Parallax, the addition of Ammand Waller, and probably a few others were made, but I doubt they just changed it to Johns’ Secret Origins.
It would still be the story by Berlanti's crew & Goldenberg.

KARL KERSCHL & ABIN SUR! F YES!!!

The two Johns written one-shots (Hal and Sinestro) also look like buys. I don't know anything about Cliff Richards' art and I'm not that crazy about Guggenheim so I'm not sure about that one. I hate Kilowog (probably my least favorite GL) and I don't like Tomasi's writing or Bennett's art at all, but if I've bought the first four by that point I'd probably just complete the collection.

I'm pretty excited for these. KARL KERSCHL AND ABIN SUR!!!

I think I'll just stick with my one Green Lantern book, unless the Geoff books have some unique hook. Not a hardcore fan of GL, so I'm glad I could walk passed all the resin of the hype.
