"The estimated total sales for the 300 comics was the lowest it have ever been in the final order era at 4,402,738 units which is down by 1,161,460 units from December 2010 and down by 1,227,451 units from January 2010."

Wow. This an industry in dramatic decline. Maybe things will improve when Marvel goes back to $2.99.

It looks bad, but it's a mistake not to factor the weather into this. People don't buy comics if they can't get to the shops.

It's not just comics or anything.

Movies were at a 20 year low in attendance in January. Sales were down 29% from the previous year.

In both cases, it can't be overlooked that comics (and movies) saw a drastically lower number released in January.

Seems like a lot of indies were up higher than usual. Some fans are quitting the big 2 and looking for alternatives, it seems, while others are just quitting comics.

Gotta move the whole shebang to a decent digital format.

Man, Avengers Academy looks like it's going down in flames.

Only one comic has sold over 100,000 comics this January!?

And the number two best-selling comic sold fewer than 80,000 copies?

    Aw, it sucks.

must say i thought Fantastic Four #587 would sell around 150k. Maybe with the second print.
