I'm thrilled Cobie's in the movie. I'll be livid if she's Maria Hill, though. That character has no place whatsoever in the Avengers, while Jan and Wanda both should be in the movie. They're core parts of the Avengers.

That's right! Al Gore invented the internet, let's all go kick his ass!
I got your inconvenient truth right here, motherf*&¨%!

I suspect a lot of the "human POV" in the Avengers will come from Hawkeye, who'll walk the line between "super hero" and "secret agent" and will probably be one of the more prominent characters since he's being introduced in that film.
There hasn't been a definitive answer either way. Some people swear up and down that Wanda and Pietro aren't included in the X-Men rights, while others say they are.
My personal suspicion is that "Magneto is my daddy and we were founding members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" trumps "we were Avengers for a long time" for movie licensing purposes (no matter how differently some fans may feel on the issue). Not to mention that Wanda and Pietro have also shown up semi-regularly on the various animated X-Men series.
To an extent, I agree simply because Wanda and Pietro without the ties to Magneto just...aren't really Wanda and Pietro anymore. Magneto was such a huge part of their lives and experience even before they knew they were related that without it you're kind of left with someone that resembles the characters but is missing a key element.
Maria Hill makes sense in the, you're going to need Nick Fury to have someone to boss around who's not an Avenger, to be a like Happy was in the Iron Man films, so why not make it a character who people who are in the no, know?
Also, Cho is in the incredible hulk film? Really? How have I missed this.
I think it's pretty cool that Maria Hill is going to be in the movie. I know alot of people don't like her, but I think she's an interesting character and I'm very interested in seeing Cobie Smulders portray her on the Big Screen.
"That's not just "one man"! That's TONY FREAKING STARK. You're intel should've warned us that he was James Bond and "Q" wrapped in the same guy!" Cobra
I don't know either way but they've yet to use them in any X-Men movie in any sort of substantial way (apparently there was a white haired kid that runs fast in Wolverine). You'd think they would use them in the third X-Men movie which had pretty much everyone else without any regards to the story.
I prefer to have them in the Avengers and keep the Magneto connection as a subtle in joke for the fans (heck they didn't even know they were related to him when they first joined the Avengers).
i hope we see her try to arrest steve rogers in the sequel.
Hill makes sense, honestly. With them doing away with the "Howling Commandos staying young since WWII"/Infinity Formula elements in the films, and Dum Dum appearing in Captain America, another SHIELD agent was needed for Fury to play off of. And with there being a lack of women in the cast so far, that kind of boils SHIELD agents down to Hill or the Contessa, the latter of whom might be a bit polarizing to audiences, being such a product of the 60s and whatnot. I'm not a big fan of Hill in the comics, but I'd rather see her in this spot than Carol Danvers or Janet Van Dye, since it would tweak their origins way too much (and with an Ant-Man film coming, I'd rather see Jan debut there).
As for Hill getting limited screen time, don't be too sure. Whedon wanted Cobie Smulders for his Wonder Woman, after all...so he was ready to hinge an entire franchise around her. He may see giving her Hill as a chance to make up for missed opportunities.
There's no sense in nonsense when the heat's hot.
I hear you. I'm just trying to think from a licensing perspective rather than (or in addition to) a comic fan. Once upon a time I recall reading that Fox's licensing deal for X-men included "all mutant characters" from Marvel, which would then include Wanda and Pietro. Given that to my knowledge we definitely haven't seen any mutant characters in other Marvel films, there seems to be some circumstantial evidence to support that statement. Of course, given that at one point Namor was in development at another studio there's circumstantial evidence that it's NOT the case, too.
But neither Fox nor Marvel have made any serious effort at showing/using Wanda and Pietro. If they don't show up or get some kind of mention in "First Class" (which purportedly is folding much of the "Magneto" movie into it), then I'd definitely say the matter is even murkier than before.
I like the idea of Maria Hill being the movie. She's hardcore and would really add another dimension to (in my opinion) Sam Jackson's less than serious role I've seen so far of Nick Fury. Cobie Smulders is a good actress, but whether or not she can play maria hill is another thing.
Joss Whedon must really like her as an actress to want her to play such empowering roles. First he wanted her for Wonder Woman, and now Maria Hill. I think she has the looks.

When Ed Norton sneaks into the lab as a pizza delivery guy to use their equipment, and bribes Lou Ferrigno with pizza, there's a longer haired computer nerd in there who's supposed to be Cho (although he doesn't really resemble the comic version at all, but then neither did Doc Samson). He even says something about "gotta feed the brain", a similiar line Cho always says. But again, if you blink you missed it.
Man I hate Maria Hill! One of those chick characters Bendis keep pushing down our throat. Of course you knew Mr. Feminist himself Joss Whedon would use that character. She's gonna spend the whole movie whining about the Avengers not doing their job.
