So...Maria Hill in the Avengers Live action movie?

So is anyone surprised that one of Bendis little pets gets a major upgrade with joining the upcoming Avengers movie ?

If not what is your reaction to all of this ?

She'll probably have all of one or two lines and might not even get explicitly named on-screen. So it ain't that big of an "upgrade" and it's pretty pointless to get upset over it anyway. It's no different than Green Lantern supposedly being heavily based on Geoff Johns' "Secret Origin" rather than "Emerald Dawn."

Yeah, but then nobody could call a character "X's little pet" so it has to be his fault. (Trying to imagine someone picking up Avengers #4 and going, "Great! Somehow they've put in one of Kirby's little pets!" Not trying too hard, though.)

I agree - possibly something along the lines of Amadeus Cho's appearance in the Incredible Hulk movie.

But if she were a moderately used character, I would be happy - I like her.

I think it makes sense if you have a movie with a BUNCH of super-heroes in it, you need some 'regular' folks to keep things grounded / show the sense of wonder. I realize we already have Agent Coulsen, and to an extent Nick Fury already, but as they peel back the layers to the movie-verse version of SHIELD, they have to introduce more characters - it's not just Coulsen and Fury. So this makes sense to me.
