I don't think of comic books in that way. I don't care about the page per dollar spent ratio. I care about characters and story. DC could put out a 100 page story for $2.99 and I wouldn't get it. I don't care. IMO, Marvel has the better characters and stories and will get my money regardless of the pages per dollar. Its quality over quantity.
Same. It all boils down to preference. If cost is your deciding factor then DC is for you. If quality based on your tastes is your deciding factor then Marvel might be your choice.

I'd pay $5.99 for 12 pages of Ultimate Spider-Man before I'd pay $0.99 for 47 pages of Action Comics. But that's just me.
