It looks good, but a Super Bowl commercial needs to be bigger.

I agree. I see nothing special about this movie. It just looks like your conventional little man takes on alien story that has been done thousands of times before.

Off topic - am I the only one surprised that there is yet another Fast and Furious movie?

Really. Nothing about the wild-west motif seems ...somewhat unique?

Just your generic cowboys battling spaceships movie.

I thought the trailer was okay. The first teaser that took place at night was spookier and more interesting. I like westerns and I like spaceships so hopefully Fauvreau can make it all work.

haha..."generic cowboys and aliens film"...haha...if you can name two other films with the same subject matter I will eat the entire Cowboys and Aliens graphic novel.

That being said this was by FAR the best teaser in the Super Bowl. Amazing visual effects, actually "new" footage (I'm looking at you Thor) and a better idea of a what the film's about.

Jon Favreau should teach Joe Johnston and Kenneth Branagh how to cut teasers.

P.S. this movie get extra kudos for making what seems to be a good movie from terrible, terrible material.

I'm sure a marketing team editor was responsible, not the directors.

This movie certainly won't be worse than Cap or Thor.

I don't know, perhaps it was down to cost? It costs $3,000,000 to advertise during the Superbowl which equates to $100,000 per second.
Another possibility is that, seeing as all the movie teasers were 30 seconds in length, maybe the teasers weren't allowed to go over 30 seconds.
