Default Wrestling: Postmania IX: IT'S NOT SNITSKY'S FAULT!

Last one's already over 5,000 posts, after Royal Rumble. Figured I'd give a shout out to Gene Snitsky, while I was at it.

    I kinda miss Snitsky.

So, scale of one (horrible) to ten (great), how would you guys rate this Rumble?

I guess it's harder to find a Snitsky gif than I thought. Oh well...

Two thumbs up on ADR winning. It'll be a few weeks before I get to see it (you know, whenever Netflix gets the DVD in), but it sounds like the title matches more than delivered, and I always enjoy watching the Rumble itself.

Oh yeah, two thumbs up on not littering the Rumble with injury returns. It's been a little overdone the last few years, and should keep the next few weeks of TV very, very interesting.

Just less than the Rumble where Benoit won by eliminating Big Show at the end. At the time, if you didn't cheer for that, I'd have questioned your wrestling fandom.

A shout out to Snitsky ?

I would rate this rumble as 8/10 - delivered what it promised with a good winner with no Triple H in sight.

Guess we'll see Orton will move on to Punk & the new nexus on RAW tomorrow as they are the ones who cost Orton the match.

Miz will now be Cena's bitch leading to wrestlemania i'm guessing.

I give it an 8. The divas match brought it down a few pegs and Hornswaggle lasted a little too long for my taste. Other than that it was a enertaining Rumble.

Just when I thought WWE would go for something predictable like a Orton or Cena win or HHH returning and winning the Rumble they managed to pull the trigger on Del Rio and have him win. Now the only thing that can make that moment perfect is to have him win in Wrestlemania.

    8/10.

the rumble match itself was great with a so many good moments its hard to named them all. (stable war at the beginning, bryan getting some love, chavo doing multiple three amiegos, jomo's spiderman save, new nexus dominating, kev and booker, miz taking out cena, and of course, alberto del rio winning it all)

the divas match brought it down and the miz/orton match wasnt as good as ziggler/edge.

overall, one of the best rumbles in the last few years and worth watching.

In terms of agility , usually Shelton Benjamin is the one who provides that kind of moves. Shame that he's gone from the 'E.

I don't understand the blind hate I read on Lordsofpain about Alberto del Rio winning. I actually take note of who comments, and these are the same people who comment that it's "always the same guys winning", yet when a new guy wins, "he's not ready."

    Whaddaheck do you guys want?!?

EDIT: Also, how many times has the Rumble winner gone on to lose at Wrestlemania? And who were these unfortunate souls who have lost? None come to mind at the moment.

Actually for the past 3 years the Rumble winners have lost at Wrestlemania. Before that there was the Rock in the 2000.

Yeah, shame Shelton never got a solid gimmick, or any real ability on the mike. Because he pulled some pretty awesome agility spots through his time in WWE. Any time he was in a "Money in the Bank" match at Mania, there was one in the making.

Austin won the rumble in 1997 but did not compete for the title at wrestlemania , he wrestle Bret Hart in that famous submission match instead.

Vince McMahon won the rumble in 1999 , he did not compete for any title.

The Rock won the rumble in 2000 but did not win the title at wrestlemania 2000 in a fatal 4 way match.

John Cena won the rumble in 2008 but he did not win at wrestlemania.

Randy Orton won the rumble in 2009 but he did not win at wrestlemania.

Edge won it last year but he did not win the title at wrestlemania.

That's true, although as a flimsy defense, I noticed that for the past three Wrestlemanias, the Rumble winner vs. champ wasn't really *the* main event, so to speak. It struck me as Flair-Michaels, Michaels-Taker, and Michaels-Taker 2, so I guess it made more sense there.

This 'Mania doesn't seem like it would shape up to have an actual main event to top the Rumble winner vs. Champ match. If that's the case, I'm liking Del Rio's odds better.

Can you imagine if he went for The Miz? :P
